What you should know about voting CSI

Steemit is an engagement platform and so it is encouraged that we all support our fellow users with our upvote and not ourselves.
I will like us all to learn about something very important. Most of us already know it but many do not.
In this post I will be explaining the meaning of voting CSI (community support index). Every user has what is called voting CSI and it can be found in our steemworld page.

Voting CSI

Voting CSI is a mechanism thy shows how we, as steemit users, distribute our votes to other users.

We all need to support one another no matter how big or small we feel our Steempower is, just click on the green vote button.

How often should you vote?

A user should give upvotes to at least 10 different publications in a day.
Try to spread your votes to different users but always make sure to vote on quality contents that are not plagiarised. Also make sure that the content you upvote is steemexclusive and is in accordance with steemit rules.

Your voting CSI should not be less than 5%

Your voting CSI should never go below 5%, if yours is below it, it means you have not been supporting others with upvotes and this is very wrong and goes beyond the purpose of steemit.

If you feel you do not have time to check and upvote up to 10 publications (at least) in a day, you can join a curation trail.
A curation trail is meant to assist you to vote. If you are in a trail, that trail will help you to give upvotes and cover many publications that you may not personally be able to cover.

Curation trail is like linking different accounts to a particular account for the purpose of giving upvote. So when that account votes, it means that account gives upvote , the other accounts that are linked to it will have automatically upvoted. If you link you account to steemkidss community curation trail or any other trail, it will assist you in giving upvotes to different publications. Make sure you are joining a trail that is still active.

How to check your voting CSI

How can you check if you are doing the right thing by upvoting your fellow users?

• Simply visit your steemworld page: steemworld.org/@yourusername.

• Just in the homepage, take a gaze down to locate voting CSI below the stats section.

The voting CSI above is 16.6%. it's a good sign that the user is supporting others with upvotes. There you can also see a bracket next to the value. The bracket provides information on how the user distributed his upvotes.

The first value in the bracket shows the amount of vote given to oneself.

Normally a user should not upvote himself so the upvote so the value should be 0.00, but perhaps the user above is in a trail and since his account is linked to the trail, when the main account votes on his publication, his own account automatically votes for him. It is not that he voted himself intentionally.

The next value in the bracket shows the number of upvotes the user has given and there it shows 188 which means that the user has given up to 188 upvotes within 7 days.

The next value shows the number of accounts that the user upvoted. There it shows 87 accounts.

All of the above statistics are just for the period of 7 days.

The CSI above is a good one and the user can also do more.

• Do not vote for yourself

• Make sure you upvote only quality contents that are not plagiarized.
