**SEC17 WK:#5: caring for aged and dependent relatives in the family

I am the eldest child in the family. I have more responsibility for my family. My parents are old. My father suffered a heart attack in 2009 after retiring from government service and later suffered a brain stroke. My father has diabetes. We are two brothers. I just finished my studies and joined a new job. The whole responsibility of the family came to me.

After my father had a heart attack, I was taken to the hospital in my local town. Then, my father was taken to the ICU of the hospital. The doctor came and advised me that my father should be taken to a big hospital in Dhaka for treatment. I quickly took an ambulance and left for Dhaka with my father. I have my mother with me. I went to Dhaka, undecided. I took my father to the National Heart Foundation, the biggest and best hospital in Dhaka. I kept my father in the hospital's ICU for fifteen days and treated him. My father has seven blocks in his heart. My father is still alive. I spend my annual leave from work during my father's treatment.

I visit the doctor every month with my father

As my father has high blood pressure and diabetes, I bought the blood pressure machine and diabetes measuring machine and gave them to my father. After I got home, I had to measure my father's blood pressure and diabetes and give him insulin. Because I take care of my father's medical care. If there is any problem, first let me know and make a decision.

Giving first aid to my mother

I buy medicines and fruits every month for my parents. I serve my parents with pleasure. Last month, I joined the job after taking my father to the doctor's during the Eid holiday. I never get tired of serving my parents. It is my duty to serve my parents. I remember that, as a child, when my father was strong, he used to bring us big fish from the market and food that we liked. My father used to fulfil all my needs. He used to send money to me when it was difficult for my education.

Once upon a time, my father was powerful and active. My father had a lot of money. Today, my father is sick and lying in bed. You are suffering a lot due to the disease. I try to spend time with my parents whenever I get time. I want to spend more time with my parents. But due to work, I must stay far away from my family.

My family consists of my wife, one son, and one daughter. Every human being survives some problems. My son and daughter are very young in my family. I have to fulfil their full responsibility. Time passes by as I work and take care of my parents and my family members. Even though I suffer physically, I have peace of mind.
