SEC14 WK:#6: "Welcome!"
Greetings to everyone! Happy new year!!! My name is Oluwatimileyin, I welcome you once again to my blog and to the engagement challenge season 14 week 6.
Welcome is a form of greeting expressing invitation, compliments and respect. It expresses warmth and hospitality. I use the word “welcome” in these three distinct ways
- Firstly when someone visits the house, I extend the word “welcome” it offers a positive tone for their visit.
- Secondly, when I offer help or render a gift to someone, when the person says “thank you” i respond with the word “you’re welcome”
- When someone comes back from an hectic work or class, saying welcome gives them relief.
When the word “welcome” is used for me, it offers me an atmosphere of belonging and being appreciated. It offers a positive atmosphere which makes me feel so comfortable and also valued.
For the person I use it for, I feel the person should feel happy, appreciated and welcoming. The person should feel at home likewise. As students, when my roommates return to the hostel from class, I say to them “you’re welcome” and with their facial expressions, I see they feel loved.
Encouraging the use of the word more often brings a sense of belonging and a positive relationships. Incorporating this word in our daily life helps others feel loved always and putting them in a welcoming atmosphere.
I think “welcome" should be added to the five magic words. There are sometimes we just a sweet calm word to be happy, feel calm and loved. This word can be a healing word for some people.
It’s very necessary to teach kids the importance of this word. Kids learn so fast in many ways, they learn from what they see, hear and what they see us do. Teaching them how to greet with the word “welcome” is part of good morals.
First of all, I’m so excited about this new year. Honestly my expectations for this new year is very huge and by God’s grace I will achieve them all with strategic planning.
My very prayer is that God shouldn’t allow the plans of the enemy to hinder my progress in this year. I want to grow spiritually, my finances, and make great friends.
This year I want to connect with people of great values. Connecting with people of great values is like a building myself also. I will watch how they do things and learn from them also.
My overall expectation for this year is all round great success.
