It is tomato season in my city, I took advantage of it
Tomato is one of the vegetables that also act as fruit for many people like me. I like eating it raw after thoroughly washing it in a salty water. Apart from that, I also love using it to prepare source or stew for both rice and other foods like yam, plantain, potato and so on.
However, sometimes it becomes so expensive that it will be beyond the reach of an average person. Yes, imagine going to the market to buy one seed of tomato for N250 (2.6 steem). It becomes so discouraging trying to prepare source for a family of 6 or 8 or even 4.
Thankfully, between December and march, tomato is always in season. Like now for instance, tomato is not just in season, but good species are in season. Yes, the spacie we call Derica that is both succulent and reddish. A little quantity of them gives you a full pot for source.
This surplus is only peculiar in some cities like my present city of residence, Aba. Unlike Uyo where I reside before. Here, the producers who are from the Northern part of this country brings them down here in quantities. It is always cheaper here than over there in Uyo. Besides, it is our major vegetable for our stew apart from the palm fruits.
Those in my present city of residence can relate. I went to the market when I was thinking of what to prepare at home. There, I saw that beautiful tomatoes where in the market and they are very very affordable and good looking. I decided to buy it and prepare since I already have rice at home. This means that I will just use it along with other ingredients to prepare source for white rice. This food is liked by everyone at home.
On an enquiry, I discovered that each heap is N500 ((47.6 steem). I was thinking they will be sold for a thousand Naira. I had to buy just the one of a thousand Naira and it was very big.
I bought other things like
Biscuits bone
Spices
Tin tomato
Seasoning cubes
Vegetable oil and so on

At home, I simply washed my fresh tomatoes thoroughly in a fresh and salty water, then cut them into tiny pieces and add into a pot, then I cut my onions and add, pounded the pepper and added and then boil a little. After which, I brought it down and pounded a little. This is just how I want it. I didn't want to blend it.
Then, I used vegetable oil to cook the pounded tomato combination. I prepared it with the biscuit bone and it was very delicious 😋.
First, I cooked the biscuit bone thoroughly with seasoning cubes, onion, pepper, spices and salt
Then in a clean pot, I poured the oil, then allowed it to heat a little, then added onions and stir fried till the onion released it's flavour.
Then I added the tomato I prepared earlier. Here, I didn't need to allow it to cook much because I already got it ready.
Before long, everything was ready. Then I bought white rice. Everyone was already salivating at this moment. They come in and ask, is it ready? Well, now it is ready. It was served to everyone, all 4 of us at home enjoyed it.

You can see how yummy 😋😋 it looks and that's how tasty it is too. By the end of March, it will become expensive again and we will have to struggle eat it. Now is the time to take advantage of it and enjoy it to the fullest and thus get the vitamins it contains that will remain in our body till the next season.
