Thediarygame for 27th April, 2023: Attended Traditional Wedding of my client's sister, meeting a female MC

Being a coach comes with a great responsibility to also rejoice with my clients on their happy occasions. It is a joyful thing to rejoice when others are rejoicing especially when you have been specially invited.

I was so happy when one of my clients invited us as a fitness group to the traditional wedding of her little sister who he so view as a daughter. The reason is because their father died at an early age and he took it upon himself to train all his siblings. Hence, he assumed the role of a father and a grandfather. Till date, he is known as a grandpa in that my fitness group.

He sent us a wedding invitation in our group to make it official after telling us orally in one of the meetings we help within this month of April and apart from sending the invitation, he personally called me to lete know how he will value my presence and that of others in the group.

Since the day falls within the date of this diarygame, I made efforts to be in attendance. My activities for the said day is presented below in subheadings. Please keep reading.

My husband has been away for work since on Tuesday this week, hence, I am assuming the role of both parents as it were. Waking up, though late as the wedding will be in the evening, we held our morning worship and my son took the lead. Yes, a baptised son, he takes the lead in the worship as a family if the father is not around or he gives him the go ahead.

That daily Bible text was drawn from 116:1 where the psalmist said that he loves Jehovah because he hears his voice, his pleas for help. It was so touching to me. The explanation is that we should always besiege our Creator in prayers always. In fact, we should not let him rest until our request is solved. This shows that we have trust in him as the only one who can help us. My son asked some questions to ensure that we all got the point of the lesson for the day.

After that, we did our morning chores, warmed the spaghetti that I prepared last night and took as our breakfast.

Before long, those who were working on our tank stand came to continue the work they started. It was on Monday that they came and poured mortar to form part of the pillar that will hold the tank stand. Then today, they came again to complete the rest of the pillar.

I quickly gave them all that they needed for the work, took my bathe and left to a salon to care for my nails and eyes, then but malaria drugs because I have been unwell since Monday. I thought it's something that won't be serious but it is. I have to treat malaria.

The price for the drugs amounted to NGN3000 (8.42 steem). I did a transfer to them and then called one of my friend who sales shoes so that I can pick 2 pairs. I have been planning for this a long time ago. All my shoes are old and expired because I haven't given much attention to getting new shoes for myself. The ones I have were the ones I got long before I came to my current city of residence. Yes, I bought one last December before our convention but I don't want to wear that one because it is heely. The few that are still wearable disappoints me. I remember the one I wore last week Sunday. Thank goodness that the heel went off only when I got to the junction after meeting to board the last bike to my house.

On getting to her shop, I waited for a while because she told me that she was on her way back to the shop. I was able to pick these two and did a transfer

It was already past noon, 12:16pm to be precise when I was on a bike to my house. I told the same bike to come pick me up again by 1:30pm. Yes, we all agreed to leave by 2pm because traditional marriages are done in the evening. I think that's the custom.

I ate my lunch as soon as I got home. Then got my things ready. I got dressed and was ready by 1:35pm but that bike man didn't come again to pick me and his contact number weren't going through. Well, I said goodbye to my kids and the workers and strolled down to get a bike. On my way, it was very sunny but I took this selfie below

I was able to get a bike and met up with those at the agreed location. We sat down in a shop to wait for others before we could go together.

We left by 3.02pm and spent an hour on the road before we could get there. Still, the wedding, though had began but not in earnest because the bride and groom hadn't been invited to come out. So, we were right on time

A lot of guests were present. We couldn't even get a seat at the onset until they went in to bring seats for us. We were offered drinks. Soon, the Groom was invited in and he danced in with his entourage and took his seat.

Then, we were given food and more drinks. On the whole, i drank a bottle of small stout before the food, then, the bottle on my hand along with food and water. Then later, while waiting for us to go, I took wine.

The wedding was anchored by a lady MC. This practically my first time of seeing a lady MC anchoring an occasion. It was amazing how she was able to navigate even more than most male MCs. I couldn't help but to take a selfie with her. I love seeing and appreciating talented women especially in field of endeavours where men are the ones know for such. This reminded me of a female bus driver that I joined her bus the other day in my city of residence. I admired her a lot. Whatever one finds to do, one should be able to take it up and never minding whether it is for male or female so long as you can do it and it can fetch you cool cash to care for yourself and family.

The meeting was brief as she was very busy, I could have gotten his name and her contact number.

The Bride stood at the entrance of their little hut, waiting for the groom to stand and welcome her before they both went in to seat down

This wedding was conducted in The language of the people of my city of residence. I am not too familiar with it but I heard a little of what they were saying. But it was very colourful.

I wanted to go home when it was past 5pm but my clients weren't ready especially those that will drive us. We had to wait until it was few minutes to 7pm before we started going home.

I got home to meet my kids and that was when the workers were ready to leave. They worked till late but they didn't complete the pillar yet. They will be back either on Saturday or next week as I was told. It was already 8pm. It was dark because there wasn't electricity. The kids took their dinner and i showered and we retired. But my husband called that he was coming back home. I had to stay awake to welcome him home. He was able to get home while I was asleep, lols 😂😂😂😂. But he woke me up from the window to open door for him.

My kids woke up immediately to welcome their dad. He ate his dinner, had his shower and that was it for the day.

A new family has been started, I wish them success in their journey!
