Steemit Engagement Challenge S6/W3 - Effects of parents behavior on child's physical and mental health)".

Hello fellows, I'm glad to be part of this week's engagement challenge and I hope you are happy to see me. I remain @patience90.

Introduction

Kids are one of the most beautiful blessings any parent could ask for and they make the home warm and beautiful in their own little ways though they can be a pin in the butt a times.

However, they are empty vessels that needs to be filled up but whatever a parent/guardian impact into them is exactly what they will display.

How has your parent's behavior affected you? (Positively or negatively?)

To start with, I didn't grow up with my parents. My mom was a bush market business woman who had little time for me but unfortunately, she died when I was still a toddler which made me lived and grew up with my elder sister and her family. So these are the people I'm going to talk about.

I will say their behavior affected me both positively and negatively.
Positive in the sense that I realized that no matter how little anyone has, there must be good in the house and also we enjoyed peaceful and accommodating home.

And for the negative aspect, I must be sincere. They made me afraid of opposite sex that is still affecting me till date. Their behaviors towards my male classmates made me so scared of even talking to them or complaining about being sick as I will be thinking it could be pregnancy. You understand that kind of thing na.

Which of your parent's behavior do you like most?

Not that I had any option than staying with them though.
My sister talks too much which I don't like about her till date but I love her hustling spirit as she never gets financially broke because she is never lazy which made us have all sorts of food in the house and there has never been a we slept hungry no matter how harsh the economy is.

What's the best way parents can impart good values to their kids?

Kids learn by example which mainly by sight. They exhibit most of what they watch their parents do.
So the best way parents can impart good values to their kids is by living an examplary life.
When parents wake up in the morning and observe morning devotion, wherever the kid goes as he/she journeys in life, they will always remember to pray in the morning before any other thing.
A kid observe what the mother does each morning whenever she climbs down the bed. Does she make the bed or goes her daily activity?
Does she keep the house clean or not?
How do the parents treat guests?
All those values the kid learns by observation and it sticks to the mind and he grows with them.

Write a short message to your parent

As parents and potential parents, be careful what you say or display before your kids. Sometimes they seem like their attention is not with you but later during their playtime they exhibit and express the same things they watch you do.
Else, where do you think they learn daddy and mummy play?

Finally, no matter how little your house is, have a demarcation where father and mother will be sleeping to avoid the kids watching how to exhibit your conjugal duties so they can respect you and also parents should stop changing clothes in the presence of kids. That's a bad habit completely.

Conclusion

With that being said, I hope adults can learn to always be careful around kids.
