Sunday preaching on the Power of Thanksgiving ||28/12/2025||
Hello great Steemians, and happy last Sunday to you all. Today's Sunday service is a service to be much remembered, and I'm here to share with you what I've learned today from church.
Today's topic is titled "Understanding the Power of Thanksgiving." The text was taken from Matthew 21:15, and it was ministered by Bishop David O. Oyedepo, the general overseer of Living Faith Church worldwide, so we were connected through live service today.
Today I learned that there is power in thanksgiving, and here are seven solid powers we can get through thanksgiving to God. They include
- Thanksgiving facilitates access to God's presence. Psalm 100:4 (it is your visa into his presence);
Thanksgiving shows us the part of life; it gives you access to the revelation in Psalm 16:11.
Thanksgiving facilitates answers to prayers. Philippians 4:6, 1 John 5:14-15, Psalm 65:2, and Matthew 6:9, 13.
Thanksgiving secures access to fresh oil that renders our enemies helpless. Psalm 92:2, 10-11, and 89:20.
Every Thanksgiving believer is a dangerous being. Ecclesiastes 9:8, Colossians 3:17
- Thanksgiving causes believers to flourish where others struggle. John 11:3, Proverbs 18:21
- Thanksgivers don't live empty lives, but it makes us flourish at all times no matter the season. Psalm 19:12
Thanksgiving preserves God's blessings in our lives. Jeremiah 13:16, Malachi 2:1-3
Thanksgiving perfects our blessings. Luke 17:19
Thanksgiving multiplies God's blessings in our lives. Jeremiah 30:19, Habakkuk 3:9.
Closed with this;
Be intentional and personal with your thanksgiving because nobody can give thanks to God for you.
Stop counting your losses, start counting your blessings, in everything give thanks, and God will step in.
Stop murmuring and complaining because it provokes God. Numbers 11:1.
You didn't get everything you asked from God this year, but that doesn't mean you won't get it next year. Just keep thanking him; don't give up.
One thing I understand about God is that his powers dwell in his word, and whatever he says he will do. If you thank him, he will definitely do it at his appointed time, not by your time but his, because he is a God that doesn't make mistakes like us.
Just challenge yourself today to say thank you, Jesus, every day and in all the activities you do that day faithfully for three months, and wait and see a miraculous change in your life.
Even if there is nothing to thank him about, just appreciate him for keeping you alive because it's not everyone that made it through January that has made it till today; some may have made it, but they are in the hospital surviving through artificial oxygen, prison, or a courtroom facing trials and the likes, but here you are, healthy and sound—that's enough reason to give thanks.
Forget what you have lost or didn't achieve this year; just look up to Jesus, for he is your source. Thank him for life, for when there is life, you will be restored and achieve anything you want to achieve. Stop murmuring and complaining and give God a chance in your life.
Thank you.
