My school unexpectedly resumed this week.

A lot of students expected school to resume either on the 20th or 27th of April 2026 but a different resumption date was announced. I was so surprised when I saw a memo that school is resuming on the 13th of this month. I finished writing my exam not long ago and I'm hearing this news. I wasn't happy about it at all and what do I have to do about the situation I have to take it like that.

The funniest part about this situation is that some departments still have first semester exam to write this week. This is the first time I'm hearing about something this in my entire life. Which means those students won't have any holiday? A friend of mine finished her exam last week and this week is resumption.

Some students travelled and they aren't back yet because they made that plans in a way it will favour them if school resumes either 20th or 27th but now things changed. A lot of students are saying they will resume on the 20th and I won't blame them much because the resumption date is too near.

There are also students who are happy about this because they are tired of staying at home. Just few days ago two girls in my department said they want school to resume as soon as possible because they are tired of spending too much time at home. They said this in our department WhatsApp group chat and some of my other coursemates said they even want the resumption date to be in May.

I laughed because I know is never possible for my school to resume in May. My school doesn't waste time at all and the school always want to work according to the school calendar for a particular academic session. I heard someone saying that school resumed today and the school environment is looking empty. Is obvious the person went to school today.

Last night someone reposted a write up from someone, in WhatsApp and from it the person said that we were happy that the Vice Chancellor postponed our exam date in first semester not knowing we were going to write our exams in some days that were supposed to be the early days of our holiday. We didn't start exam on the scheduled week in the academic calendar and I think we are resuming this week because the school is trying to remain in line with the calender.

As for me, I plan to resume either this week Thurday or next week Monday. I really planned to continue working hard this week so that I can gather more money for school bills and others before school resumes. I haven't gathered much and school has resumed. I need to gather enough money I know I can manage first before I resume.
