A Sweet Iftari Evening

Today was very nice and good day. It was Ramadan day so whole day felt slow and peaceful. I woke up for Sehri early in morning time. After that I slept again for some time. The fast was not difficult because weather was not too warm. Alhamdulillah, I completed it. In the evening, everyone was waiting for Iftari. Iftari time finally came. After eating I felt relaxed. But I was still thinking about one thing. My favourite Kareem chaat from Alnoor Special Kareem Chaat Shop. I told my family that I am going outside for some time. They smiled because they know I love chaat too much.

After Iftari the streets were full of life. Ramzan nights have different energy. Shops were open. Lights were shining everywhere. Children were walking with their parents. Some people were buying sweets. Some were sitting in small hotels.

When I reached Alnoor Special Kareem Chaat Shop, there was big rush. That shop is very famous in our area. People were stand in line. The smell of imli alu Bukhara chatni and spicy masala was in air. My mouth was already watering. I waited for my turn. While waiting I was watching chaat maker uncle. He was working very fast. Mixing yogurt, potatoes, chickpeas, papri and different sauces. His hands were moving quickly but perfectly. Finally my turn came. I ordered one special Kareem chaat. He smiled and started preparing it. He added apple little slice and banana. After that thick creem. Then sweet red murabba and green sweet. On top he sprinkle chaat masala.

When he gave me a plate I felt very happy. The plate looked colourful and tasty. I sat on small chair near shop and took the first bite. It was amazing. Sweet, spicy and little sour taste together. The yogurt was cool and masala was strong. It was little messy but that is real fun of chaat. Around me families were enjoying food. Some were laughing loudly. Some children were asking for extra gol gappay. The whole environment felt warm and joyful. Ramzan really bring people together. While eating I felt thankful. After fasting whole day, eating favourite food feels like small reward. It is not only about taste. It is about feeling. About enjoying simple moments. After finishing the plate, I felt full and satisfied. I drank some cold drink also. Then I slowly walked back home. Cool air was blowing and market was still busy.

When I reached home, I told my family how tasty the chaat was and how much rush was there. They laughed and said next time bring for us also. Today was simple day but very memorable. I realized happiness does not always need big things. Sometimes one plate of Kareem chaat from your favourite shop is enough to make your evening special. This Ramzan night will stay in my memory. And Alnoor Special Kareem Chaat will always be my favourite.
