SEC-S30W4: Family Bonding Activities

Family has much importance for me. But in busy routine I forget to give time to each other. This challenge inspire me to spent quality time with family. I selected creative activity which can bring us close. I choose cooking for taking part in this contest. It was simple idea but it gave us beautiful moments happiness and strong bonding.

I selected learning a new skill together and in that we choose cooking. I select cooking because it is something we all can do together. Also it is fun and useful. In our home we all like food. So I thought why not make it together. It was good chance to teach kids something new. My son and daughter both were excited when I told them. Cooking also bring family close. Everyone stay in one place and work together. That was our main reason.

We wanted to spend time together and create happy memories.
So this activity was perfect for us. It was simple but very meaningful.

We all gathered in kitchen. It was very nice moment. We made potato and cabbage curry. I love this dish. I start cutting vegetables like onion and tomato. My son was helping me in cutting potato. He peeled potatoes. At first he was slow but then he did it better. My little daughter made ginger garlic paste. It's moment was wao! She was very happy doing this. Her hands got little dirty but she enjoyed very much. We all worked together. Kitchen was full of fun and laughter. No one was bored.

About cost we did not spend much money. Most things were already at home. We only bought few items from market. It cost around 500 rupees. In steem it will be 31 Steem and it is very small. But the happiness we got was very big.

There were some small challenges. First was to bring everyone together. Kids were busy in their own things. My daughter did not want to come at start. She wanted to play with mobile game. Then I talked to her with love. I told her we will have fun. I also promised her candies. Then she agreed. Second challenge was handling kids in kitchen. They sometimes make mess. Things fall down. But I stayed calm. I did not get angry. We handled everything with patience.

That made the activity more enjoyable. My younger daughter was very happy to do this activity. She took great interest in cooking.

The biggest gain was happiness, inner peace and bonding. We spent quality time together. We laughed and talked a lot. It made our relationship more strong. Kids also learned something new. My son learned how to peel potatoes. My daughter learned how to make paste. These small things are very important. If I talk about enjoyment, then my little daughter enjoyed the most. She was very happy. She was smiling all the time.

She felt proud that she helped me. I felt strange happiness in my heart to see all happy. That moment was very special for me.
