Communication skills
"Steemit community and platform, today I'll be talking about communication skills😊. First of all, lemme start with the definition of communication 📚. Communication is defined as the passing around facts, thoughts, emotions, etc., between a sender and a recipient using different techniques like talking, writing, visuals, etc. 📱 It's also about making what you're giving out understood to your audience 👂.
Let's look at types of communications:
- Personal communication, also known as private convo 💬. This involves talking to oneself 🤔. This takes place within a person; it is also called intrapersonal communication.
- Interpersonal communication, also known as face-to-face communication 👥. This is a communication that takes place between two people. It can also involve more than two people 👨👩👧.
- Mass communication 📢. This is passing information to a large number of people at the same time through socials, papers, broadcast, publications, and social media handles 📱. This is also called public communication.
Modes of communication:
- Verbal, also referred to as spoken 🗣️. This has to do with personal meeting or one-on-one communication. Its advantages include being quick and timely; it helps understand the receiver's view 😊. Its disadvantages include it could be easily forgotten 🧐; it can also be altered and twisted 😬.
- Written communication, also called documented 📝. This involves transmission of spoken words into written documentations like printing, typing, sending SMS, etc. 📱 Its advantages include they are not easily altered or twisted 🔒; it also includes it could be used as evidence 📚. Its disadvantages include it does not provide quick feedback 🕒; they are sometimes expensive 💸.
Styles of communications include:
- Source 📢
