Contest alert- All in one contest W29: My Experience in Making a Pencil Sketch Portrait (Step by Step Drawing)

Dear friends and my greetings to all the children and parents of this community. Hope you all are well. Today I want to partake with you all a beautiful and engaging art activity of mine in which I formed a portrait sketch with the help of pencil. Drawing is an activity that not just relaxes the mind but similarly enhances a person's creativeness.

I formed this delineation step by step so that everyone can fluently make out how to draw a portrait.

First step:

First I drew the basic shape of the face with a light pencil on paper. In it I made the outline of the jaw and face so that the direction of the whole face is clear. The lines are kept very light at this stage for easy correction later.

Second step:

After that I started to draw the main parts of the face like eyes, nose and lips. I made an eye first and then the shape of the nose. Then gradually outline the lips with a pencil. At this stage I also started shading a bit to make the face look more realistic.

Third step:

Then I made the other eye and eyebrows. After that refined the rest of the face and smoothed out the lines. Now the face was starting to look quite complete.

Step Four:

At this stage I started making hair. To create the hair I used sharp and light pencil strokes to make the hair look natural. Also I added more shading to the face to create the effect of light and shadow.

Fifth Step:

Then I created the neck and shoulders to make the portrait look more complete. Light shading was also done on the neck to add depth to the image.

Last step:

Finally I revisited the entire sketch and refined more shading and lines where needed. When the sketch was finalized, I also wrote the date on it. I was genuinely fortuitous to see this portrait because it was the result of my hard work and ingenious thinking.

Drawing is a veritably useful activity for both children and grown-ups. It not only increases forbearance and focus but also improves one's creativity.However, your skills will better with time, If you also practice delineation.
