Computer lesson 4 – COMPUTER OPERATIONS
Hello Kids,
It’s another lesson on Computer Studies for this week, and I am sure you are happy as we have run this Class for one Month now, I mean 4 times now right? Welcome to our Class for today.
I discovered that just a few people did their Homework for last week, and I read them all. For the best pick, I have already rewarded them with 1 steem each. Evidence Below:
Congratulations!!!
I really appreciate your hard work and better rewards will Come Someday.
If you didn’t, that was bad, but if you did, it was good and so I want to take time to appreciate all of you who did the assignment properly. I commented on your homework, did you notice?
As I announced last week, our topic for this week is Computer Operation. What really is it?
Computer operations simply mean giving instructions to the Computer system and then that computer system executes your instructions and brings out the result. In other words, it is a process of executing the instruction given by you to the Computer.
Can you think of Some ways in which we can do that? Have you done it before? , Alright Before you tell me, let’s go deeper into this study.
No matter how Smart a Computer is, it still needs instructions from humans in other to act and that is why this study Comes to light.
As time goes on in our Computer class we would Consider Some of the means by which we do give Computer instructions on daily basis.
But for now, let’s Consider Some of the basic types of computer operations.
- Inputting
- Processing
- Outputting
- Storing
- controlling
Inputting:
In a Computer System, Information and programs are entered into the computer through Input devices. I believe you still remember Some of the Input devices we talked about last week such as the keyboard, disks, mouse, etc . So, we can enter information through this means or through other computers via network connections or modems connected to the Internet.
So in a nutshell, whatever goes into a Computer inform of a Command is Known as inputting.
Processing:
The CPU(central processing unit) which is otherwise known as the Control Unit directs all the operations of the input and output devices. This is the brain behind all operations Carried out in the Computer System.
When an input device is Used to carry out a task and it gives out an output, that is called Processing and this action takes place in the CPU.
CPU (Central Processing Unit) Perform two important tasks at a high Speed that might really surprise you.
One Such task is Arithmetic Operations, can you take your minds to your Mathematics Class when you did Addition and Subtractions? Now that’s what Arithmetic Operations do in a Computer.
Whereas the Second task that the CPU carries out is logical Operations which has to do with Comparing numbers.
Outputting:
Output Devices Shows or displays information on the screen of a Computer (monitor) or the printer and sends information to other computers. They display an error message and also provide further directives for Solutions. In a nutshell, Outputting is like the feedback of the instruction you sent.
Remember we also talked about output devices in our previous lessons, Can you still remember Most of them? I know the monitor will come into your mind, you are absolutely right. But remember we have other ones and we are not going to talk about that now, because we already did.
Storing:
Storage is one of the most important operations of a Computer system. In simple language, storing means, preserving some vital information at a particular point in a system. The output result that comes after executing the instruction given by a user, and keeping that output result is called storing.
Can you think of Some of the storing devices?
Alright, let me help you. They include:
Hard Disk
Compact disk (CD)
Flash drives
Memory Cards etc.
This Operation helps the Computer to remember the previous data that was stored in it without Forgetting.
Controlling:
This is a type of process that monitors the instruction given by the user from the time it is executed to the output result. This process itself is called controlling.
Kids, that’s the end of our lesson for today and in our Next class, I would talk about different Operating Systerm.

I'm grateful, thank so much.
Thank you for another interesting lesson. I hope that I and many others can participate.
Thank you so much @madilyn02,and Sure you can join.
Thanks for teaching our wonderful kids, today they learned about output and their devices, I hope they will like it! Continue to be active we appreciate your effort
Thank you for the review @goodybest,i really appreciate.
I hope the lesson will continue to be of impactful.
Another great lesson for the kids or should I say, for me. 😊 I must be honest I don’t miss a lesson.
