Hello guys , welcome to a new day if you're just waking up.
I'm us-andrew as you may know.
And this is by participation for @mesola's DIY contest.
I'll be submitting this post as my entry, so if you've seen it, do me the little favour of upvoting and dropping a nice comment aswell.

So, I drew a friend of mine from an image that was sent to me on WhatsApp.
I made a pen art of it. I'm popular for pen arts these days, and I'm planning on sticking only with that for a long time. Maybe , pencil arts will come in once in a while.

Tools I used were;
An A4 paper and A biro.

Steps	•

Normally, I always start my portrait drawing with the head.
Then, I extended it to the body ,which I add the clothing if there is.
After that, I check the sides of the head to place the ears.
Most times, the two ears are not always visible. At times , just one is visible.

Secondly, I addy facial features which is always the most vulnerable part of a portrait. If the facial features do not allign well with the original photo, you are most likely to get a dissatisfied result.

So, when drawing the features such as the eyes,nose, mouth brows and lashes, I'm always extra careful.
I place them in the right position with the right spacing.

The subject also touches her face with one finger of her right hand.
I made sure of that.
At the end of this post, I've drop tye reference Image so , you can take a look.
I also outline the lines since I was don with the light sketch.

I started my shading with the lips, sorry I didn't do a step bey step progress of the shading but my last part was the clothing.
I totally forgot to take the photos. Sometimes, it's tiring 😂.

This is a close up image after a complete sketch. I know it's rough, but let's leave it like that, so we don't spoil things.
I've not showed this drawing to her, you the readers here on steemit are the first to see it.....
