Food Challenge Contest Week #153 || for Kids and Parents | Teach the Kids/Kids Food Challenge | Share Your Food Diary with Us. “Whitie Kitchen Best Recipes “
Best kitchen full of love and passion!! In broken words, I will call the recipe were get doings.😁. A glorious greeting to all steemians. I'm very happy and grateful to be participating in this magnificent food challenge contest in the Steem Kids and Parents community. It's a thing of joy to share my recipe with you all. Today we will be looking at how to prepare afang soup using ice fish with starch (fofo). I woke up this morning, and I was worried about always eating light food, so I decided to prepare Akwa Ibom native food called AFANG SOUP using ice fish with starch (fofo). So I went to the market and got the ingredients needed for the meal. As soon as I came back, I then started cooking. The ingredients I used in cooking are afang leaf, water leaf, fresh pepper, Knorr cube, Onga cube, red oil, stock fish, crayfish, starch, periwinkle, Kanda, and salt. The very first step I started was slicing my afang leaf, then I pounded it and put it inside a cover plate, then I sliced my water leaf in a train and covered it.

The next step was pounding crayfish with red pepper and then putting it inside a cover plate. After that, I washed the periwinkles with salt water to make sure the color of the water was pure, and then you parboiled the periwinkles, filtered them, and put them inside cool water.

I parboiled my ice fish with Kanda, putting in small ingredients like two onion cubes and a little salt. After some seconds, you put it down. Make sure you avoid onion if you want to enjoy the meal and you want to perceive a good aroma from the pot of soup.
I parboiled stock fish for some seconds, and then after the stock fish was exactly as I wanted it to be, I put it down.
The next step is putting the pot on the gas cooker and adding red oil into the pot. Make sure there is not any water inside the pot that you want to add red oil to avoid violence. After that, I add water, leave it with pounded crayfish & red pepper, then I turn it for a few seconds, and I add all the boiled stock, periwinkles, ice fish, and Kanda. Then I make it take some minutes, and I serve it and know the hour I should put in the pounded Afang leaf. After I might have added my Afang leaf, then I leave it for some seconds, and after that, I put it down. My Afang soup is ready. You are free to try my recipe; it really tasted nice and sweet.

Making starch is very easy: put small water inside a pot and add the starch, then put it on the gas cooker and keep turning until it forms a white solid. From then you are done, but you won't stop; you must cut out what you can finish, then you make it a circle form, and then you are good to go. My goodness, what a woman can do, a man can also do in the kitchen.
