Literature(stories, poetry, prose)/music recreation review
I went and sat down where the corridor light thinned into silence, leaning slightly against the wall as if the building itself were listening to me.
People passed sometimes, their footsteps echoing and fading, but I remained still not stuck, just present. It was my favorite place to also stay and think where no one has ever asked me questions and nothing was ever demanded and answered.
My eyes drifted towards the window bars, tracing the lines as though they were roads leading somewhere far beyond the day. I had learned a long time ago that not all journeys need movement. Some happened quietly, inside the chest, between one breath and the next.
There was a time when I tried to explain myself to speak every feeling aloud, to justify every pause. But life has taught me something gentler. Not every thought needs a voice to be real. Strength, is what I discovered, confidence can exist without noise.
Then I remembered the many versions of myself had been eager, uncertain, hopeful, and afraid. Each one had brought her here, to this calm in between. I was no longer rushing towards the future or running from the past.
As I sat close to the window, the breeze slipped through the window, brushing my face like reassurance. I exhaled, steady and sure. Whatever may lie ahead would meet me as I was thoughtful, composed, and unafraid of silence.
