my actions to make our environment cleaner, greener and healthier 🌲🌲🌲🌴🌴🌴

Introduction

Good evening steemians, parents and kids of this community. It is my pleasure to participate in this contest as it is one that brings good to the world. Cleaning our environment, planting trees and recycling non degradable products is a way to make the world safer and healthier. To leave the world better for the younger generation should be the goal of everyone.
Today I participated in cleaning the environment with my friend @rexzitek and it was a great exercise.

What did you do?

First of all we gathered all the diets that had gathered in the big compound where we live. The person who used to take it upon himself to clean the place had packed out and because of this waste were being littered everywhere and no one cares about it. The grasses had also grown tall and even with tomorrow that is supposed to be sanitation, there have been no plan to clean the environment. I searched for cutlass to cut the grass but unfortunately it was not available so we had to do with just packing the waste and burning them.

How did you do it?

@rexzitek used a rake to rake the compound while I used a bag to pack all the litters in the compound. It was awkward and people looked at us and asked questions. You can imagine that keeping the environment clean is something that attracts surprising stares from passerby. Two of them were even cracking jokes and making fun of us while having a laugh.

But we continued, and along the way even them that were laughing joined us in the work as one of them brought out fuel which we used to burn the waste we had gathered. It was nice.

Where did you do it

It was done inside the lodge where I stay and it is a big one with students living inside so you can imagine the kind of waste that is always produced daily.

What motivated you?

What motivated me is when I saw a post by my mentee @mbetobong and then I looked at my own surrounding and noticed it was badly unkempt. My mind now recalled the reason for the incessant mosquito bites I have been receiving every night. This mosquitoes have a healthy breeding ground because we have neglected our environment and since this is raining season, they have enough water pool to grow.

I believe that by my doing this work I will help save people's health and mine. I will soon get cutlass and cut the grasses which are already growing badly at a fast rate.
