Hello @steemkidss community, it is a pleasure to participate in this contest topic because keeping our environment clean and health is what will help us, our neighbours and future generations to live a good life.

Most people do not care about the environment they live in, this can be seen in the way the manage their waste. Waste is something that should be properly disposed off as it is harmful to the environment.
What they do not know is that they can be directly and indirectly affected by this neglect. If dangerous insects and animals start living in a dirty environment one could get serious sickness and health issues.
Of you dispose your waste carelessly into the water bodies it could lead to water poisoning.

Keeping our environment clean, healthy and safe is a collective responsibility and should not be restricted to some persons or organisation.

What did you do?

Well for me what I did was to make my environment cleaner. I could not plant trees because I do not have a farm for that. Also we do not have a recycling plant in the area where I live.
In my state, sanitation is done once in a month towards month end, usually the last Saturday of the month. This is when the government gives people time till around 10am to go around and clean their environment by cutting grasses, sweeping, packing waste etc

I thought to myself, why do we have to wait till the last Saturday of the month to clean out environment?
Do we wait till month end to bath or sweep our houses? Certainly not.
This brought me the idea that we should clean our environment as soon as it dirty.

I live in a students love and it is common fact that students produce a lot of waste. In the compound where I stay nylons, paper, bottles litter everywhere and no one cares because month end we will clean it.
I took the initiative to park everything and dispose them off.

How did you do it?

I took a big bag and went around packing all the waste products. I made sure to separate those that can be recycled and kept them different so that those who go around carrying them will come and pick them up.
The rest I burnt them.

Where did you do it

As I stated earlier, this activity was carried out in my lodge where I live.

What motivated you?

It was a contest I participated in on steemit that motivated me. It was titled "being superheroes of our planet". I saw how other steemians were actively keeping their environment clean and I decided I could also be one of them
