GOOD EVENING WONDERFUL STEEMIANS!

I trust everyone is hearty and healthy, as for me I'm great. During our last contest on "YOUR BAD HABIT FOR HEALTH" I observed that a lot of our members have unhealthy eating habit which have resulted in health haphazard or malnutrition. This is the reason I came up with the topic: keys to healthy eating I hoped someone will find this useful.

THREE KEYS TO HEALTHY EATING:

Eat varieties of fruits and vegetables daily:
Vegetables and fruits are the main sources of minerals vitamins and other essential nutrients for good health. WHO state that our body needs at least five portions of fruits and vegetables daily. These portions is not included starchy roots such as cassava or potato.

Limit your intake of salt and sugar:
WHO recommends that adult total daily intake of salt should be less than one teaspoonful.
It is also recommended that we limit our daily intake of sugar this is because sugar is the main ingredient of many processed foods and drinks for example an average soft drinks contains 10 tsp of sugar and it is high in calories but they provide a little or no nutritional value

EAT ONLY A MODERATE AMOUNT OF FAT AND OIL:
Do not eat fried and processed foods regularly limit your intake of processed or commercially Baked foods, which normally contain unhealthy fats if possible cook with unsaturated vegetable oil, these ones are more better than the one that is high in saturated fats.
The holy book says "the wise person sees danger and hides himself but the inexperience keep on going and suffer the consequences" (proverbs 22:3) if your act wisely in your eating habits and make the necessary changes then you are showing appreciation for the giver of life God, for life and good health.

COMMON MISCONCEPTION:

MISCONCEPTION 1: the food is safe to eat as long as it's is smelling good looking yummy and tasty.

FACTS: it takes like 10 billion of bacteria to make a litre of water to look cloudy but like only 15 to 20 dangerous bacteria to make you sick. make sure that your drinks and food are safe, prepare and safe them properly.

MISCONCEPTION 2: flies do not harm food

FACTS: flies are breed And feed from filth such as excrement and they often carry millions of disease-causing germs on their feet so always cover your prepared food to protect them from contamination by flies.

MISCONCEPTION 3: have been eating unhealthy food for long that it won't help me if I change my eating habits

FACTS: Eating healthier will reduce your risk of premature death. and you will enjoy more benefits the longer you maintain a good diet.
good health for all, @goodybest love you all!
