Moths are small insects that look a lot like butterflies, but they aren’t butterflies. They are quite beautiful, and their tiny fuzzy bodies make them even more interesting to look at. There are about 160,000 different species of moths found all over the world, and you can see different kinds in different regions.

Moths don’t live very long. They stay crops, and after a short while, they die naturally. The moths themselves don’t really harm crops much, but their larvae (caterpillars) can cause significant damage. Moths come in various colors and shapes, and they have wings that allow them to fly for short periods.

Moths are mostly active at night, which is why we don’t see them much during the day. At night, they are often attracted to lights, and if you look closely, their eyes and wings are quite fascinating. Their wings are covered with a kind of silk coating, which can rub off with just a touch.

I like to observe the moths in my rice fields and take photos of them. I try different ways to capture their beauty in pictures. Moths don’t eat a lot and can survive for several days without food. However, the larvae that hatch from their eggs can eat a lot and damage the soft parts of crops, especially rice, which can reduce the yield.

Farmers often use a lot of pesticides to control these larvae, but it’s not easy to get rid of them. The larvae are strong and live inside the crops, which protects them from pesticides.
