This morning, I cleaned the rice field irrigation channels, which were starting to become clogged with undergrowth and weeds. I did this to show my concern for the smooth flow of water, which is crucial for farmers. Irrigation channels play a crucial role in distributing water to rice fields, so if they become clogged, they can hinder rice plant growth and impact yields.

We gathered early in the morning, armed with simple tools like hoes, machetes, and coconut fiber. The spirit of mutual cooperation was palpable as we began to cut and clear the undergrowth one by one. The thick weeds growing along the irrigation canal obstructed the flow of water. In some places, the water seemed stagnant due to piles of debris and settled soil.

Working together effectively, we gradually cleared the canal. Some cut the undergrowth, others removed the mud, and still others ensured the water flow was reopened.

Although the work was quite tiring and required extra effort, the sense of community made everything feel lighter. Laughter and jokes occasionally echoed through the activity, boosting our enthusiasm to complete the task. After several hours of work, the results began to show: the previously blocked water was now flowing smoothly through the irrigation canal towards the rice fields.
