Floods hit my hometown
The past few days have seen incessant rain, causing the upstream streams to overflow and rush into my hometown. No one was truly prepared for such a situation. The most heartbreaking news I received this morning was learning that my mother's house had been flooded and covered in deep mud. The sight made my chest tighten, especially seeing my mother trying to remain strong despite the dire circumstances.
Water mixed with mud poured in from the front of the house, flooding the living room, kitchen, and bedroom. Furniture that had been neatly arranged was lifted by the strong current, some falling, others covered in thick mud. The distinct smell of wet earth and murky water filled every corner of the house, leaving a sense of sadness that was hard to express. My mother could only stand and watch as the items she had cared for were now damaged or unusable.
Several family members and I immediately pitched in to help clean up as best we could. However, the floodwaters hadn't fully receded, requiring us to work extra carefully. The mud was so thick, it made walking difficult. We stopped occasionally due to fatigue, but seeing our mother persevere rekindled our enthusiasm to help.
Outside the village roads, the situation was no less dire. Fast-flowing water carried trash and mud everywhere. Residents' activities came to a complete standstill. Children couldn't leave their homes, parents couldn't go to work, and most shops were forced to close. Everyone could only hope the rain would stop soon and the water would recede.

flood water that has just entered residential areas
Despite the difficult circumstances, I remain grateful that my mother is healthy and safe. Possessions may be damaged and lost, but the safety of our family is paramount. This flood is a reminder to us all that nature has unpredictable powers, but also that family togetherness is the strength that keeps us going. I hope this flood passes quickly, the mud is quickly cleared, and our hometown is restored to its original state. Most importantly, I hope that my mother and all the residents will be given the fortitude to overcome this trial.
