We are paying cost of contaminating things.
When I was a child, I used to see many elderly people who were very old, unable to walk or speak properly on their own, yet they lived without any major defects or serious health issues. Eventually, they passed away only due to the weakness that comes with age. Almost every household had one or two elderly persons. They were considered a blessing, and their presence was invaluable because the experiences and stories they shared made life meaningful and enriching. The insights they had about life and various activities were truly worth listening to.
They had deep respect for nature and took great care and responsibility in preserving the resources available to them. This is one of the main reasons why nature and the environment were not as polluted as they are today. Unfortunately, the newer generations are not as responsible and often consider ignorant activities something to flaunt. I believe this is also one of the reasons people in earlier times lived longer. They did not believe in contamination and adulteration and valued contentment over greed. Instead of chasing excessive wealth, they were sincere and considerate toward their fellow beings.
Today, with increasing greed for wealth and a luxurious lifestyle, people are more involved in contamination and adulteration, trying to gain more from less. Many things are now adulterated, which directly harms human life. As a result, a large number of people are suffering from various health hazards, and many are dying due to these diseases. These health issues not only drain people’s wealth but also take away their lives.
A recent study in the Kashmir Valley has claimed that, on average, 38 people die every day due to the deadly disease of cancer, mostly because of contamination and the addition of carcinogenic substances in food items. Eggs have also been found to contain carcinogenic elements, possibly due to the steroids fed to hens to make them grow faster and lay more eggs. This, again, is an attempt to become richer at the cost of human lives.
A large number of people are also suffering from blood pressure issues. In the recent past, I have seen young people in my surroundings losing their lives to strokes and brain haemorrhages due to blood pressure problems. Doctors usually say that these issues arise because of lifestyle choices and contaminated food.
I do not understand how people can be so ignorant and careless about human lives, which are extremely precious. They fail to realize that these consequences will eventually reach their own homes as well, because the saying “what goes around, comes around” will surely prove true in this case.
Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
