Happy Sunday family! Welcome back to my daily diary with macinova your favourite lady in the house. Today is Sunday! Yes, today is Sunday, and my body knew it before my alarm did. I woke up looking tired. You know that kind of tired where your face is puffy, your eyes are small, and your bed is holding you like "don't go yet"? That was me this morning. Then I remembered my service is 9:00 AM. Jesus! I jumped up from the bed like someone who just remembered NEPA took light. Sleep cleared from my eyes immediately. I quickly got up, arranged my bed and ran to the bathroom. Bath was fast but thorough, cream was quick but neat. I ironed my dress with speed, picked my bag, picked my Bible, and checked myself in the mirror. Sleepy girl was gone, Sunday girl was ready. Off to church I went.

Its 9:15 am.. got to church. Church was beautiful. You know that Sunday morning peace the choir singing, people greeting you "Happy Sunday!", the word that touches you right where you are. By the time service ended, all that morning tiredness had turned into joy. I left church smiling, greeting everybody left and right like I wasn't the same person who almost slept through service.

Afternoon came, I came back home, changed out of my Sunday wear, tied my wrapper, and headed straight to the kitchen. I prepared jollof rice because every Sunday is rice, that's the tradition. In my house, if you don't cook rice on Sunday, did you even go to church? I made my Sunday jollof the proper way by pepper, tomatoes, onions, curry, thyme, that small smoky party jollof aroma that makes neighbors peep through their windows. I added cooked egg to look more richer. I dished it, sat down, and ate like someone who worked in the vineyard. That rice tasted like blessing. It tasted like Sunday itself.

Evening was quiet and soft. After all the rice and enjoyment, I didn't want heavy food again. I ate cornflakes because I prefer light food at night. Just a bowl of crunchy cornflakes with cold milk, sweet and light, while I sat and pressed my phone and thought about the new week coming. Happy Sunday once again!
