The Diary Game: 10th May, 2026.A Typical Sunday Routine: Church, Cooking and Rest
Hello guys, it’s Otidi here again, and I want to share how my day went.
Today is Sunday, and it did start quickly because I had to go to church no excuses. I had already ironed my clothes the night before, so there was nothing holding me back. By 9 AM, I was in church.
The service was interesting and nice. But while I was sitting, some of the kids in church kept coming around me. Asking for my phone and my handkerchief, just wanting to play and hang around.
At some point, I had to give my phone to my junior brother to hold. I knew they wouldn’t ask him, but they kept asking me to give them the phone to play games and watch movies in church, which is a no-no. Even then, they kept coming around, asking me to follow them outside to ease themselves, takes picture and just anything to keep talking to me. It was crazy.
The service still went on, and it was excellent. Pastor talked about the topic, “It Is Well.”
By 11 AM, service was over, and I went home. When I got home, I started cooking. I made white rice, beans, and vegetable soup. The vegetable was plenty, probably the highest I’ve ever sliced.
As a chef, I take my time when cooking. If you’re hungry and at the point of death, don’t call me to cook quickly. I take hours. And another thing about me is, I scatter the whole kitchen when I cook, then clean it up after. And once I’m done cleaning, I usually lose appetite for the food. I have to rest for another hour before I can even eat.
I finished cooking late in the evening. My brothers had already gone out to the field, so I dished everyone’s food and a small portion for myself because I wasn’t even hungry anymore.
After eating, I took my bath. I was tired and meant to prepare for work and maybe come live, but I didn’t. I just locked up for the day.
Before I forget, I spent a lot of time talking to my lady today. We had plenty of time, so we just kept talking.
I was supposed to have a meeting with my students, but I couldn’t. Was so tired that I slept off and woke past meeting hour and we had to reschedule.
That was how my day went. Just church, home, cooking, and that was it.
