Macrophotography Of Ascalaphidae
Hello steemian friends
On this occasion I will share a post about insects, these insects are very beautiful from their very striking colors with very bright colors.
While looking for an object as usual, I saw this dragonfly-like insect crawling on the leaves of a tree. Immediately I took out the macro lens for me to capture this beautiful animal through my smartphone.
With great difficulty and patience I was finally able to capture it in the form of photos in several different angles. Finally I found out the Latin name of this animal through a google search, and finally I found out this animal is called Ascalaphidae.
Ascalaphidae is a family of insects in the order Neuroptera, generally called owlflies. They are fast-flying crepuscular or diurnal predators of other flying insects, and have large bulging eyes and strongly knobbed antennae.Wikipedia
At first glance if we see this insect is very similar to a dragonfly. But if we look at it very closely, it is really very different, it is clearly seen from the antennae that this insect has and the eye shape is very much different from dragonflies in general.
Here are some photos that I took on my smartphone
