It is a great way to appreciate the hard work of the curators like @abduhawab, @faisalamin & @bountyking5 and also discover new authors and content within the community.

Essentially, it's a public record that promotes transparency within the community while also highlighting quality content. I think it is also a good way of encouraging new members to improve their content by looking at what the curators consider quality.
