You’ve noticed, just like me, that the meaning of practically everything is changing. This applies to the nature of animals, but also to what were once considered heroes and the general meaning of words. I’m not getting involved in that nonsense – I’ve had enough of it. I’m also familiar with the problem of meddlesome people when it comes to pets. It ranges from animal welfare workers – who generally know very little about animal species – to meddlesome passers-by and neighbours.
Generally speaking, they know nothing about regulations, the nature of the animal, let alone training and behaviour management.
Angry neighbours because you don’t want them to feed your dog, angry passers-by because you don’t want them to stroke your dog, angry onlookers when the dog obeys a hand signal without fail (which is pathetic), and angry dog owners when you don’t want their dog to poo in your garden, or run around off the lead growling and attacking everyone.
We gave up on having a conversation about it ages ago.
