Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 68: What is the best way to handle stress?
Like they always say, sometimes life throw to us what we expect least and we just need to accept it as it comes. Today I will be participating in the Steem4Nigeria Community contest and be sharing my view how far this year have gone.
Explain stress in your own word.
We have been hearing the word stress for number of years but most of the time, I find it hard to actually understand it not recently this year. Stress can be defined as the response our body gives when been subjected to the heavy pressure, challenges and much more demands which can affect the physical, emotional and mental state. Most of the time, we always feel stress whenever we are not able to cope with tough situations.
I have come to discover that everyone must at one point encounter stress whether we like it or not. We just need to find a way of managing it so that it will not be severe as I will say it should be. We practically need to find techniques so that when stress comes, we will be able to manage it effectively
What is the best way to handle stress?
When it comes to stress, there are several ways and strategies I strongly believe we can use to manage stress efficiently. The first way is through managing it from identifying the stress triggers. Trust me and from my little experience, I have actually come to discover that stress are most of the time trigger by something. It can be work, it can be financial issues and many more. But first of all identify the stress triggers.
When you are able to identify the stress triggers, it will be easy to tackle the problem from the root. The next thing for you to do is for you to actually try to maintain a very healthy lifestyle as it is called. There are some lifestyle you should distance yourself from and the ones you should not. There are some activities you should do and some activities you should not do. Most especially, always make sure that you get enough sleep every single day as it is very important. A day without sleep is not actually complete.
Have you been stressed up before ? What caused it and what did you do.
Yes I have actually experienced stress on several occasions and from my little experience, I have actually come to discover that it deals with emotions and a lot of needs that we did not even pay attention to. Most of the time, I have actually come to discover that the stress always comes when I have a lot of work and tasks to attend to which I am not attending to.
One of the things I just did whenever I noticed that I am stress is to take a break instantly. I actually knew that the best thing for me to do is just to take a break. It might not look like it but that is just the best thing I can and always do. I will take a break so that I can stay refreshed and much more energised both within and outside.
Do you think stress can solve this life challenges?
Over my little experience with stress, I have actually come to discover that stress does not necessarily solve life challenges. In fact most of the time, stress also contributing to the life challenges because if you did not quickly take note of the stress, it can become something dangerous which might even affect our health which in turn affect our wellbeing and create more life challenges for us to settle.
What advise can you give to someone that is under stress right now.
One of the strong advice I will just give to someone that is experiencing stress right now is to take a break. Trust me, you need a break. If probably you will just shut down, go for holiday or watch a movie, trust me you will be stress free. Most of the time stress comes as a result of pressure and if you are able to deal with those pressures, you are able to move with the life.
