Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week131: Dealing With An Ingrate
In your own understanding, define who an ingrate is.
An ingrate is someone who I consider an ungrateful human being who doesn't show appreciation for what you do for them. This person is also viewed as someone who fails to help others. In fact, they always think about themselves alone without considering others as people who need help. That's why I regard them as selfish human beings.
No matter what favor or gift we do for such a person, they will not show kindness, and they always feel pompous to the extent that they will just snub you whenever they see you on the street. And that's the reason why people do not always do good for an ingrate person.
Have you ever dealt with one in the past? if yes, kindly share your experience.
I am a type of person who does not like to discuss helping others where I do not ask for anything in return. But in this case, I will share one experience with you. I once helped a friend to monitor his farm, and I am the one who informed him to come and acquire this land for farming. He planted maize, which I successfully monitored for him.
When it's the time for harvest, I informed him that we do everything together. At the end of the day, he doesn't say thank you; that's it. He is not grateful for what I did for him. I cannot forget the kind of response he gave me, where he said, "If it's your own, I would not help to do it for you."
What lessons did you learn from your experience with that ingrate?
➡️The lesson I learned is that we should always be grateful as well as appreciate whatever our fellow human being does in terms of help, so that such a person can also support us during difficult times.
➡️The lesson I also learned is that we should know the type of person we must assist because there are some bad people who do not encourage us to do good things for others.
➡️Lastly, I learned that patience is a virtue for those who can practice it because an ingrate person will still come back to you for help when they also face real-life challenges. In that situation, you will be able to teach them to be responsible human beings.
Would you do good to others regardless in spite of your past experience with an ingrate?
Yes of course, that would not stop me for doing good thing to others that need my help. In fact I will continue in my own ability to support others no matter their condition because I only believe in Almighty Allah and He is the one that would give me reward on the good deed I done in this life and the hereafter.
If I stop that people will suffer to the extent that it would be hard for poor to eat three good meal in a day. Helping poor people that need help will reduce poverty in the society. We should not look the other side that someone is ungrateful to us if we do that it may affect the general wellbeing.
I would like to invite @bijoy1, @sana-khan01 and @adese to participate in this contest.
