Yes and that’s the obvious. Women and mothers are celebrate more than men. Even globally. Last week Sunday was Mother’s Day. I didn’t know cos I thought it was still in the future. So on my way back from church, a man entered the tricycle I was inside and said happy Mother’s Day.

I was taken aback as I asked, is today Mother’s Day? Cos I was thinking Mother’s Day is still in the future and the man went on to start explaining that it was Mother’s Day. I couldn’t help but ask how many Mother’s Day do we have to celebrate in the year?

And then a little talk ensued and the man went ahead to explain why women should be celebrated. He said that women are wonderful part of the society and are special people hence should be celebrated and deserves to be celebrated.

You could also think that he was a women advocate and he spoke with so much passion about why women should be celebrated. Well, if a man thinks so, who are my to object.

Women are actually celebrated more globally cos we even just finished celebrating the international women’s day and then popped up Mother’s Day and there are still more days ahead throughout the year that celebrates women.

Yea, the Father’s Day celebration is also a popular celebration held in the honour of men though not as popular and loud as the women’s day celebrations we usually have but the Father’s Day is a day that’s generally dedicated to celebrate our men and their special position in the society.

There’s also the international men’s day celebration which is a global day to celebrate men. This is November 19, a day that is dedicated to the celebration of men, men’s health and their contribution towards a better society. Though I acknowledge that these events are not as loud as those of the women, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist.

Men are celebrated globally like I said. My dissatisfaction is with it’s not a loud one. So I view of that, I’d say that I am of the opinion that men should be celebrated more. These days that are mapped out to celebrate them should be pomped up and more emphasis laid on them.

My reason for asking for a laudable celebration for men is that men are actively engaged with seeking out the well being of their families and most of them act as the bread winners for the family. This can be a Herculean task and not an easy one hence they should be celebrated too and given the deserved recognition in the society.

Men pass through a lot of mental and psychological issues in a bid to be the provider as it’s required of them. That’s why most of them die quickly and they are not also free to cry and express themselves emotionally all in a bid to be strong.

With these point of mine, I hope I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that Celebrating men better would be them knowing that we see them and appreciate all they do.

Therefore men deserves more laudable praise, recognition and celebration in the society and globally.
