Greetings and welcome to my blog. This is the 29th edition of The Green Spotlight. The green spotlight is a a weekly blog where I review interesting books with the aim of wetting our reading appetite to peruse the pages of these great books and draw out so much for ourselves.
Reading is one of the greatest virtues we can cultivate. Not just any kind of reading but books that are inspirational in nature and would motivate us to become the best of who we are.

This weeks review is on a book that touches every aspect of our lives and some of us have been Victims of this on extremes. The tittle the book for review is “Anger Management”.

My opinion about the book “Anger Management”
Introduction/Theme
Anger is a legitimate emotions that we all feel and express daily. Getting Angry is not bad but what we make out of it or do with it is very important. A lot of people abuse this legitimate emotion and that has led to many problems that shouldn’t have arisen if we knew how to control and manage our anger.
This book was written to help us understand anger and how to avoid the detrimental part of it and how we can lead a better life and not be a slave to our emotions.
Let’s look at some interesting tips to take away from the pages of this great book.
Key points from the chapters
*Anger is a legitimate feeling like we said and it’s not bad but it can be healthy or unhealthy depending on how we express it. Uncontrollable anger has led to many problems, poor choices, relationships disasters and some serious consequences.
A lot of people get angry many times a day and do you know that anger is a learned habit with continuous repetitions. Not being able to control your anger is a bad habit and bad habit is easy to learn but difficult to stop.
- Do you know that anger is you trying to control something? The question is what are we trying to control? If something happens and it’s not the way you planned it, you get angry because you do not have control of the situation.
Most anger is as a result of primary pain meaning that there was a reason behind the anger and many people react in different ways. You can decide to manage your anger or react in a way that’s unseemingly. It’s all boils down to you.
Do you know that nobody has the right to spoil your day if you don’t let them? There are basically two ways people react to anger. Some explode and do each things or say things they would regret later while some suppress their anger. Are you an exploder or a suppresser?
There are many ways to manage anger and one of them is to keep an anger log. Have you heard of that before? You can check that out in the book. Read, read, read.
When we are angry with someone we tend to not forgive them and hold what they did against them in a bid to make them apologize or because we feel we had the right to be angry.
- Did you know that holding anger against someone is holding yourself down and can lead to so many problems? Another way to deal with anger is to let go. Letting go is setting yourself free. There’s more to see but I would let you find out for yourself.
My rating of the book
This is the first book am reading on anger management and it was good. I give this book a rating of 9/10. It was a great book on anger management.
Conclusion
Anger is legitimate but can be dangerous is not handled properly. It can be healthy or unhealthy based on our expressions. If you have anger issues and are battling with the challenges of controlling your anger, this book is for you.
