“The Value of Time”
Why do you think time is considered more valuable than money? |
|---|
Time waits for no man they say. Time lost can never be recovered again. That’s one of the reasons why time is considered more valuable than money. Any second or minute we loose has gone forever and can never be gotten back.
If we loose money, we can always get it back. Let’s say someone got scammed or a particular amount of money was stolen from someone. With time, hardwork and consistency, we can always recover any money lost but the same is not with time. Time is a non recoverable asset.
With time you can make money and more money but we can never make time with money. Rather money can help us save time. That’s why most wealthy people would pay so much just to save time because it’s even said that time is money.
Share an experience when you felt you wasted time or used your time wisely. What did you learn from it? |
|---|
I had a project to do that had a deadline. Infact if it wasn’t submitted on time, it would incur a fine of $1000 dollars. That’s a lot of money and I had limited time to do it.
I had to keep aside everything that would have been a distraction for me. I knew that this moment wasting of time was a luxury that I cannot afford. So I gave all my attention to that project.
I sat down for hours and put in so much time. I had to cut down my sleep time and took only short breaks in between. I was glad that at the end of the day, I was able to maximize my time and met up with my target.
I learnt that we can do so much when we set our mind to it and also learn to manage limited resources such as time. I learnt that playing with time can be expensive. As expensive as $1000.
What are some ways people can manage their time better in daily life? |
|---|
A lot of things make us waste our time. Some of the ways we can manage our time is by;
Cutting down on the too many things we do that waste our time. Such as too much watching of movies, gisting and gallivanting from one place to another.
Reducing the number of time we spend on social media and endless scrolling. We can never get to the end of these scrolling so limiting it would help us to be more productive.
Setting alarms and reminders of the things we are supposed to do in the day and when to do them can help us be more productive and mange our time.
Having a to do list also goes a long way to help us keep track of our time and knowing we have a target on what we are to do for the day.
If you could go back in time to change one decision in your life, what would it be and why? |
|---|
One decision I would change if I were to go back in time would be to learn to love myself better. I have always had to put me at a risk for people who cared nothing about whether I am dead or alive.
I would learn to say no more. I have difficulties saying no to people even when it’s detrimental. Even when they are using me. I turned blind eye on things that I should have been reasonable enough to pay attention to.
I’d learn to watch better and know when to retreat. When to say no and when not be act all good as a savior which have led to multiple hurt.
Learn to be wiser and more flexible with dealing with people.
