A Day Full of Work, Faith and Simple Moments
Hello #steemit team,
This is @alfazmalek from #India,
Today morning I wake up early, little before my alarm. Don’t know why but I was feeling fresh. After bath I decide to go to dargah. It’s been long time I went there. I reach there around 6:30 maybe, few people were already sitting. I just sit quietly for some time, closed my eyes and prayed for peace. That place always gives some calm feeling inside. After few minutes I came back home, had my tea and get ready for hospital.
When I reached hospital, many staff were already there. As usual, I started my infection control round. Every morning I check few areas one by one, see if all things are proper or not. Today I focus on dressing trolley and store. When I checked expiry dates, I found some items already expired. I felt little bad because I already told staff last week to check these things properly. Still, I didn’t scold anyone, I just called them and explained again.
I told them why expiry checking is so important. Sometimes these small things can cause infection to patients. They all listen carefully, some were writing notes. After that I showed them how to mark and separate expired dressing packs, and I also asked them to prepare a replacement list. It took almost one hour to finish the round. After that, I gave short training to them about safe storage and timely checking of materials. Few nurses asked good questions, so I felt happy that they understood the point.

Then I came back to my room, sat for a while and opened my system to complete mails. There were few messages from admin side and infection data to be sent. I completed that and then had small talk with one colleague. He told me about new patient admission coming in evening shift. Around 2:30 I left for home.
At home I noticed my sofa was looking very dirty maybe because of dust these days. So, I called the person who does washing and gave it to him for cleaning. My wife was also doing her household work. I had simple lunch and then rested for some time.
In evening, weather was quite nice. My wife said, let’s go out and eat something. So, we went to a small street food stall near our area which is famous for Chinese food. The man who runs the stall makes really good noodles. We ordered veg fried rice and manchurian. It was spicy but very tasty. Sitting there and eating on street has its own charm. We talked for some time about random things like our plans for next week and some small jokes.
After that we came back home around 9:00. I felt tired but relaxed. Sometimes such normal days also give satisfaction. Morning started with prayer, then hospital work and infection control round, then training, and ended with street food with my wife-all small things, but together it made the day complete.
When I sat on bed at night, I was thinking how fast time goes. Every day looks same, but each has something new to learn. Maybe that’s what makes life interesting - work, little stress, some peace, and few happy moments.
THANK YOU
