A tragic incident! : Man gets electrocuted while stealing electricity cables

INTRODUCTION

It is alarming at the rate at which people are getting electrocuted in recent times. Imagine how someone could just wake up, take a risk and decision to go and steal electrical facility. Electricity facilities are known to carry currents which could shock anyone not putting on safety wears.

Stealing an electrical cable is one of the biggest risks anyone could think to take. People would not take it soft to see anyone stealing from a facility that supplies them with electricity to going free.

I am here today to bring you a report on how a young man was electrocuted while stealing a cable from a transformer.

A young man has been reportedly shown to have died by being electrocuted. This happened at the Wilcox relief transformer at Ogbor hill Aba. The incident occurred at midnight when everyone must have gone to sleep when the yet to be identified man was electrocuted.

According to close sources, the man came to transformer late in the night when the Aba power had seized the light and that part was in darkness. The man then came to the transformer and started to cut the cables. Unknown to him, there was still current in the neutral lines of the cables he was cutting. In the course of the cutting, he became shocked to the
current in the cable.

For someone to have made up his mind to steal an electricity cable freak transformer which is a public asset, I believe that such a person would have made up his mind to either live or die in the process. Every right thinking person should avoid coming in contact with connected electrical facilities even when there is no current.

Protecting Public Properties Is Everyone's Responsibility

We all are yearning to see a great development in terms of having the facilities that could make life easier and boost our economic or business engagement. One of such facilities is the equipments that could make way for us to have uninterrupted power supply.

Over the years, the lack or no power supply has been a challenge why many businesses are not surviving. Currently, there is a slight improvement in power supply, though it comes with outrageous bills. Vandalizing or stealing public facilities is what everyone should rise against. I feel pained when someone who should chanel his energy to something meaningful, would choose to use it for one of the most riskful decisions of destroying public facilities.

The fact that these facilities are not easy to come by, makes it important for everyone to ensure that whenever we have such facilities installed in our area, we should protect them. It may have took several years for the people in this area to get this transformer.

I sincerely feel for the berieved family for loss of this energetic young man who chose this wrong way to cut his life short. This is tragic!
