Not Active Because of Lack of Votes and Steem Price? — How to Become an Active and Successful Old User on Steemit?
Most of us saw my posts about Newcomers and the guides I offered them and didn't really like the exclusive treatment. Why? They felt old users are the ones that need this motivation the most because newcomers get to receive votes everyday if the quality of their posts is okay. But most old users tend to create content without getting votes. As much as votes aren't guaranteed, I agree with you guys that it makes someone discouraged. But have you ever asked yourself the following questions;
- Why am I not visible? Do I interact with others to become visible?
- What am I not doing well or does my content lack something?
- What can I do differently to become successful on the platform as an old user?
Note that Steemit is a social media and like other social media platforms, not all contents get visibility or trend as others. Not all content gets likes and comments like others. Now have you asked yourself;
These content creators that spend their time and data to create contents that don't get enough likes and visibility, do they quit after a few trials?
You see people post everyday without getting compensation for their data and the likes, but here we are, giving up because we aren't nominated as best posts users or we get lesser votes than others.
- These social media content creators are consistently posting everyday as one day may be their lucky day.
I can remember the day steemcurator01 and steemcurator02 followed me. I was so happy that my joy couldn't contain it. This was after 2 years of consistently trying to become visible on the platform. Anyways, let's not dwell on the past. This is a new year. What can you do differently?
First, you need to have a bigger picture of Steemit. Don't just see it as a daily hustle platform because when the price of steem becomes low, it will definitely discourage you. See Steemit as an investment for the future that one day, we'll get to see steem coin swimming comfortably at $1. This post is to reveal some of the areas you can earn good votes on Steemit
Learning Challenge |
|---|
Learning challenge is organised by the steemit team who appoint different teachers to teach us on certain things. If you follow these challenges creatively and consistently, you may stand a chance to win in all challenges, get steemcurator01 vote and steemcurator02 vote even before the announcement of winners. Participating in this challenge exposes you as well and make you visible.

You get to increase your steem power and engagements through the learn challenge. The link below is the current list of learning challenges you can participate next week.
Steem-atlas |
|---|
Steem-atlas is another way you can earn good votes if you're consistent in creating quality reviews with good pictures. Steem-atlas is all about pinning the places we visit and giving our reviews on these places. We stand a chance to be selected as best post user, good votes from @steem-atlas depending on the quality of our posts, votes from booming account and possible votes from steemcurator01 team which isn't guaranteed though. Try steem-atlas for 1-2 months and give your testimony

Diary Game |
|---|
Back in the days, the diary game was one of the most supported posts on steemit. I don't really know if it still is, but then, the steemcurator01 team would vote on quality diary game posts without these posts getting selected. Creating a quality diary game post now gives you a high chance of being selected as best post user and also gives you visibility as a newcomer or old user even though the top curators don't vote on these posts willingly.
Try diary game content for 3 weeks and give me your feedback. Your pictures, number of words and arrangement matters. If you want to learn how to write a good diary game post, you can contact me in the comment section of this post.
Developing a niche |
|---|
Most people on this platform barely have niches they focus on. People create content randomly, participate in contests and other content from challenges. Try creating a niche or line of content where you develop on a weekly basis. It could be craft, food, motivation speeches, your business review and anything that can make you outstanding. Your niche makes you visible.
Anyone that asks for **the male chef on steemit that creates different Nigerian dishes, they'll know it's you and no other person. You get more followers, you spread your content in different communities and from this, you'll definitely get good votes at some points. You just have to be consistent. If you're creating content for votes alone, you'll give up. Just try doing things differently and you'll be placed in a different light.
Steem Video |
|---|
This is another way to earn votes on steemit. You create videos and post with the tag #steemvideo. You don't need to write much. Just create a quality video and you stand a chance of being selected as a best post user.
Let's calculate how much steem power you can make if you create at least 2-4 of the content above everyday, you'll be shocked by your growth in a month. So don't say you lack votes because there are a lot of things to create on steemit that can give you good votes.
Talking about Pictures on your Phone |
|---|
This is what most people don't do and assume they lack content or what to write. You have pictures, old memories and the likes in your phone. Why not select one of the pictures and talk about everyday. If you don't know what to write on, message me I'll give you numerous hints.
Contests |
|---|
I created a list of contests both new and old users can participate in. Contests makes you active and engaged. It also makes you visible.
Last Words |
|---|
I know it may be challenging to create contents on a daily basis because most of us are workers and our work doesn't give us time. My advice to you is to create a schedule, at least once in a week or twice. You don't need to rack your brain as you can tell us about your work in form of contents, you can do videos of how your day went, what you were able to accomplish, even your pictures can be used to create contents. Just open your phone, look for pictures and talk about these pictures. These are content ideas that don't even take up to 2 hours to create. So if you're inactive, I'll encourage you to resume. We have various ways to earn votes as old users and our reputation is of advantage.

Thank you for this.
Also, I hope the use of emojis is allowed and please what's the word count for post esp the diarygame post you mentioned?
To create a quality diary game entry, it should be at least 400 words with pictures, but pictures shouldn't overshadow the writeups. A diary game is a detailed breakdown of your daily activities. So if something is detailed, you know what it means.

Any incentive for returning Inactive Steemians? Or a special tag like #returning to attract supports and encouragement for those trying to make a comeback from inactivity.
Any thing to encaurage those who are trying something new.
Thanks for this suggestion Sir. Yeah, I'll place them on activity level next week. Using the tag will only make some people look inferior than others who were active and never gave up. I just feel we keep it on solo as this post isn't only after those who are coming back on Steemit. It's also for those who finds it difficult to grow their steem power and remain active.
Or what do you think asides from the tags? Steemit needs enough energy. I think we need to go back to that system of curators using tags to create. There was a curator for art, craft, food, diary game and the likes. This was encouraging and engaging and best posts were selected from these categories.
Good day @bossj the issues I have is how I can open a steemvideo please can you help me with that
Check my latest post.

Ok
Your write-ups or lecturers on steemit platform are alway mind-blowing. When i joined this community i didn't know you, but you were following my pieces of efforts, i wrote for about 3 times with low votes or nothing at all, but your lectures and personal comments spurred me up.
The next post i made, i was using your template until i began to get votes. You are good @bossj23. You mentioned that @steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02 followed you, this is another motivation i will celebrate the day it will happen to me.
I believe @bossj23 will follow me in this new year, at leasr to start from there.
Thank you sir, your have given your ideas in this ecosystem.
Done following you 😁😁. Can't wait to see you grow even though you're not longer a newcomer.
All the points you’ve noted here are succinct. As an old Steem Ian, it can feel discouraging n out getting constant votes, but this year we lock in!!
Thanks for the creative ideas!!
Yeah, we're locked in. We'll see how we can try something different this year and grow our steem power.
If there's any reason I stopped posting on Steemit, it's because i was trying to figure out a niche. For someone who is well-versed in many things, I found myself talking about everything that caught my interest (Language, law, art, education, etc.)
Sincerely, I got tired of being so versatile and discouraged that I might not find my audience if I focus on only one. Or might get bored, because that will start feeling like a chore and I wouldn't be writing based on inspiration again.
I have so many drafts stored on my device. Even developed a full-fledged content yesterday that I still haven't shared due to doubt. Maybe this is a call-to-action for me to take action.
Everything you've said here is valid. Funny how I identified them from a couple of research while trying to decide how to build my ideas around the existing structures.
Thanks for acknowledging the validity of what I've said. You're good in diction and language right? Why not create tutorials on video and warn from steemvideo too? Teach people how to pronounce words and how to avoid certain combinations. Something like that. You can make this as a comic relieve.
Will do.
Thank you.🙏
I'm so much encourage on this, thanks For this motivation I'll try my best.
Ohkay ma. Luckily, you're still a newcomer. 😁😁. But there are various ways to earn sha.
