Whatever we venture to in life is a journey for me. Little wonder we do hear the words 'finish what you started'. This is a wake-up call. You have started, you've gone far, and you're almost there. This was my favourite line when I was at the university. The picture shows a lot of footsteps that have gone through that part. This also will give you the motivation that you're almost there and that people have walked your journey and succeeded because you can see the end, either physically or in your mind.
Can you imagine when I thought of quitting school? It was in my final year. This was the year I felt the most pressured, abused, used and stressed. I told myself I wouldn't make it, but when I pictured those who had signed out, I asked myself, Is it not just a few months? I'm almost there. The challenges were suppressing, but I told myself that I'd gone too far to quit now and that I would let a lot of people down.
Just the thought that it was just 6 months to achieving success gave me the motivation I needed. Guess what? I'm there.
Is your interpretation positive, negative, or mixed? Explain. |

My interpretation of 'almost there' is positive. From my piece, you can see that it's only positivity that can make one push forward with a convincing mindset that it's just a little time left. The need for giving up even when I discovered that I wouldn't use the certificate wasn't there.
At that point, I just wanted to achieve success and make those looking up to me proud. Discouragements would come, challenges and wild factors that would make you see the finish line but input negative thoughts that it is better late than to quit before you die along the way and lose two things.
My interpretation and situation needs only a positive mindset. Any negative mindset won't make that possible for you because you would be weighing factors. It also shows the benefits of not giving your mind a chance to tell you to quit when you're almost there. The result was sweet at the end, and I had every reason to rejoice. My friends, family and well-wishers who prayed for me and encouraged me were happy that they didn't do all these in vain.
To be on a particular journey needs positivity. To continue in that same journey after starting needs a positive mind, too. And to successfully reach your destination when you're close, it needs endurance and a positive mind. If others can get there, you too can reach there. Even if you can't do it for your sake. Do it for the sake of those who sponsored you through the journey or those who motivated you.
What does “almost” teach about patience or persistence? |
|---|
"Almost there" tells us that when you're close to your target of a goal, it will always look unachievable. This is the time you'll feel you can't do this anymore. Discouragements, negative thoughts and challenges that can make you quit in the face of your prize can come. Now imagine you're in this situation; you're seeing your prize money, but you're beaten by life's challenges.
You turn back and see that your starting point took enough of your time and patience. Will you sacrifice all your years of suffering to just a little time? You'll need to be patient, push forward persistently and get there. 'Almost there' shows you can get to your destination if you're not doing your best to push forward, which means you're persistent.

This picture was taken in my level 300 when we did our first project defense. I was almost there. It was one last project defense left and I was done with school. You can see the excitement on my face with my friends. I won't forget this day in a hurry.
