The Commemoration of Christ's Death, April 2nd — Invitation Video

Have you ever been in a situation where someone risked his life to save yours or probably paid your hospital bills worth millions of naira without even asking you to pay him back? All he asked is for you to call him once every year to check up on him and his family. Will you ever forget to do so? In fact, you'd want to call him everyday because you know what he did for you and that alone can't be replaced.

That's the same opportunity the ransom sacrifice of Jesus has given imperfect humans like us. Can you remember how the Israelites used to atone for their sins anytime they sin against God? They would buy ram, doves and sheep sand sacrifice to God to forgive them of their sins. Are we doing that now? All thanks to the ransom sacrifice of Jesus who died in our behalf so that we can have that undeserved privilege of asking God for forgiveness through prayer.

Just imagine we were still living in that pattern of life where we would use animal sacrifices to atone for our sins, we would all be dead by now and only the rich would survive because a goat in Nigeria is worth 100k. So imagine spending money you can't even make in 2 months to atone for your sins. It's unimaginable.

Aside from the fact that Jesus' death brought us close to his father and we can communicate with him directly, it also gave us what Adam lost. Jesus as the second Adam brought everlasting life when Adam brought sin and death. So we have hope that when we die, that's not the end of it. We'll have the prospect of being resurrected once again to enjoy what Adam and Eve didn't have the opportunity to do to the fullest.

It's of utmost importance because this week, we would be commemorating the death of Jesus which he instructed his disciples to do. I'm not being religious biased here, but that's what all Christians are expected to do to show their appreciation for the death of Jesus Christ who gave him life as a ransom to free us from Adam sin and external death.

This week is going to be a solemn week for me because I'll be mourning the death of Jesus who suffered and died for my sake. That's the height he could do and for God to send his only begotten son down to pass through such excruciating pain shows how much he loved humans. So we would be coming together to attend this special event worldwide on the 2nd of April, 2026 which is going to be this Thursday.

What do you stand to gain by being in attendance?

• Your being in attendance alone shows you appreciate the gift of the ransom.

• You'll get to know what the ransom mean for you now and in the future.

• You'll also get an answer to the question as to who and who are to partake of the bread and the wine.

Why is this question going to be deliberated on? It's because most people are of the feeling that you must be cleansed of your sins or be holy before you can eat of the emblems whereas it's not so. Before Jesus died, he instituted this memorial and his disciples including his mother was part of the passover night, but he selected only his 11 apostles to eat the emblems which was his blood covenant with them. Why was that so? Does it mean jesus mother and others were not cleansed? You'll get to know in details when you attend and the scriptures would be used to answer this question.

In my next video, I'll discuss why Easter doesn't mean the death of Jesus because most people feel Easter Celebration is the commemoration of jesus death. I'll also explain why communion isn't called the bread and the wine as most people believe.
