Hello Steemians, Today I would like to share with you the amazing sense of the cultural day celebration at the 245 RECCE BATTALION's Model School. The event was a crowd-pleasing performance, and the different cultures were represented by several students from numerous classes, including cultures like the Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba.

The occasion all started with the introduction and recognition of dignitaries to the high table, it all began with the introduction of the commanding officer, the commanding officer of 245 RECCE BATTALIONS was honored the bugle (carnival trumpet) a trumpet 🎺 used by the Nigerian amry whenever sometime high ranking is about to happen or calling the soldiers, giving command's and also blown every 6:00 p.m. for everyone around the headquarters to stand still until it has been blown to the end.

After the introduction of the commanding officer, other highly regarded individuals in the area were introduced. The opening prayer was then said by **" Sgt Rev (cannon) Mac Melokor, he prayed, saying that the Lord should be with us all, grant us a successful celebration, and keep us all to witness Christmas.

After that was all done, the students presented an opening dance to honor the commanding officer and other special guests for gracing the occasion with their presence. The students ( male &female) danced with joy all over their faces in their Yoruba cultural attire. They immediately greeted everyone in the Yoruba cultural way, i.e, the male lying on the floor and the female kneeling down. What a wonderful way of greeting our elders.

With that being done, all these tribes, Tiv, Igbo, Fulani, Hausa, Ijaw, Urobo, Nupe, Bachema, Kaduna, Angas, Gbagi, etc., these tribes did the Yoruba likewise and also welcome the guests in style. After that was done, all the tribes held the Nigerian national flag as every tribe chants the national anthem, the flag held by all the tribes symbolizes Nigeria's unity despite its ethnicity. We all hail our nation, and pray for peace and progress which Nigeria once had.

When the national anthem was sang, there now continued with the cultural parade which involved all the tirbes showcasing their attire in one accord, there all moved together in a line, moving gently passed the crowd creating a curve together, as they all finished the headmistress Mrs Ann Ita gave her welcome speech by thanking everyone for coming, she also commended the recent display of various cultures, she's also said that with are different cultures comes our different way of life, and the ability of Nigerians to live together as one is all God's grace and we should continue so.

After that was done the commanding officer gave a warm speech addressing all individuals present at the cultural day and end of the a party celebration to keep up the good work of turning out for occasions, he also said that it is really encouraging for our kids to participate in activities like this, it helps us to have vibrant and outstanding youths who can defend the nation and live together in harmony. He also told the teachers to keep up their good job because one day the reward will be great with the lord.

Immediately after the commanding officer was done with his opening speech the MC (Master of ceremony) now moved on so the breaking of the kola nuts, he now called on the commanding officer to step forward to bless to kola nuts, the commanding officer hesitated for a while and immediately called on someone on the high table who was the chief to speak language to the colanut, the person that breaked the colanut grateful long life and prosperity and degrees to celebrate life to the fullest.

After that was done the main activity which was the cultural display took place beginning with the cultural presentation proper, this all started with the nursery 1 class presented the Hausa culture, although they didn't dance well but you will just have to admire their cultural attire, the glory of the Hausa people was showcased in their dressing.

After the nursery one was done with their presentation, their elders from the nursery 2 were out to perform the outstanding Yoruba culture. I couldn't take my eyes off them because they were dressed well, just imagine our kids showcasing our unity. The Youruba man, where's a FILA GOBI the hat looks like it wants to fall off the head of its wearer.

Transition (Igala culture)

After the nursery 2, which was done with an outstanding performance, the Transition class was out to display the Igala tribe. The Igale people are known for their rich heritage, love for art and music.

After that, the Christmas carol followed. When the carol was ended, the primary 2 were they to spread the rich taste of the Ijaw tribe. These are people who are good with dressing; they know how, where, and what to wear. Their dressing is outstanding; it showcases their lifestyle.

After the primary 2 where done with the Ijaw tribe presentation was done, the primary 3 class came out in their numbers to showcase the Edor monimkim culture, The Edor monimkim culture is really full of surprises the Edor community is just 30km away from their barracks where the celebration was held, they are good at crafts, farming especially cocoa, cassava, yams, and plantains. How wouldn't you love a vibrant and hardworking people?

The primary 4 also came to perform the Bauchi & Siawa culture, dressing in the awesome attire that individuals from the tribe wear, they gave a crowd-pleasing performance. The next individuals who were to perform were the primary 5, and for the Angas culture, the Angas were outstanding as they joyfully showcased themselves.

The JSS1 did wonderfully as they showed their superiority over the primary 4 to confidently perform the Kaduna culture. The Nupe cluture was performed by the JSS2, and the Bachema culture by the JSS3 and the SSS1 students where out to perform the Urobo culture, and lastly the all mighty Fulani Tribe, with the man having their Sticks across the back of their neck signifying their act of rearing cattle's and their bravery as they put on their BABA RIGA ATTIRE, they women being dressed in they outstanding wrappers.

After the Fulani tribe finished with their outstanding performance, the MC (Master of Ceremonies) immediately called on the next activity, which was refreshment. Everyone was served with food and drinks. I must also comment on the act of the parents dancing with their kids during the cultural performance.

The next on the list was DANCE DANCE DANCE !!!!, the DJ kept playing good music for parents, teachers, and all invited guests to dance, so it was a successful celebration of life and our cultural heritage. The next activity, which was the 11th on the list, was for the parents of the students to dance together in joy. The next event was when the commanding officer gave he's closing remark by thanking everyone for coming and praying that we all cross over to the next year successfully.

As the event unfolded the principal of the 245 Battalion Model School (Mr Atep Prince) where he turned all the parents for came to congratulate the students on their wonderful performance on showcasing the different cultures, it was now noticed by everyone that the day had come to its end when the imam was given the microphone to pray as we all departed.
