My Habits and me

Hello Steemit friends, welcome to my blog

What is your opinion on habits

Habits are regular or repeated practices of a person that are difficult to give up to. Habits are sometimes inbuilt and you find yourself doing those practices even unconsciously.

Are there habits you have that people around you have complained about? Mention them
  • Yes, I have this habit of making sure I leave my home clean before I go out no matter how late I am for wherever I am going. When I was still in my parent's house and working then, my elder siblings were married and my younger ones were schooling in different states. Before I leave the house I wake up very early and clean up everywhere before I leave for work. Sometimes when am running late Mum will ask me to leave whatever am doing and go but I can't, I like leaving the house clean before going out.
It also continued when I got married when my husband keep complaining to stop this early morning cleaning especially Sundays when we are to go for the first service that we weren't expecting any guests that I could always do it when we came back.
I have tried to stop it but it's not working, I love to see my house cleaned whenever I come back.

  • Another is not eating cooked food outside my home. I don't feel comfortable eating cooked food outside my house, it affected me much when I was a child when we visited people maybe for the festive season. if force myself to eat outside then I will throw up. My mum was worried and complained about it. Then we lived in the northern part of the country and we travelled to the village for christmas that took over a 13-hour drive and once the food we got from home for the journey is finished, I didn't eat again until we got to our destination.
But growing up I worked on it, I now eat out but in some selective places.
What are your strongest habits that has helped you over the years?

  • Waking up very early I am an early raiser, I wake at a particular time no matter how early or late I go to bed. Sometimes when I wake up if am in a new environment I just remain in bed but do not sleep. So going late to an event or function is a no to me unless I deliberately go late or if an unforeseen circumstance comes.
  • Not going out at night. This is a strong habit that was imbibed in us by our parents, my parents never allowed us to go out at night so it became part of us. When I got admitted to the university, I was so happy to explore freedom. There were several night parties orgnased to welcome freshers then. I attended about two of them but was not comfortable because it was at night so I stopped. There were times I would go out with friends then in school, once it was getting late I would want to go because it is not my thing.
If you are close to me or stay in the same house with me, once you stay out late you see me worried and checking on you until you get home.
Do you think habits can be learnt or do you think all the habits we have came from our parents as a result of birth?

Of course, habits can be learnt although most habits are inherited from birth like my waking up early and cleaning, I got it from my dad.

So yes habits are learnt, people watch other people and copy those habits they like.
My yonuger sister when we were growing she does not like doing house chores. But today if you visit her home she does chores with ease. You can't find her house dirty. There was a time I visited I told her how surprised I was to see her do what she does and told me how she learnt from me and I was impressed.

This is my entry. I am inviting @emmaprince, @chima09 and @eveetim.

Great! Honestly, I envy the first habit. Keeping your house clean before you go out to anywhere, this has really revealed the inner you. Only people with a serious discipline can do that, me I'll be running like a cat chasing rat, running out to school work everyday and comes back to clean like I've just done this afternoon.

Chai! God will help me ooo.😄

Nice content my friend, best wishes to you.
