It's another time to update you on the interesting event in my neighbourhood.
Over the week it was colour day in my children's school. Colour is said to add beauty to a person, place, or thing, and I love how schools have incorporated it into one of the social activities day in school; it brightens the mood of the children as they appear in different colours to look beautiful to celebrate this day.

This colour day was announced to the students in my children's school, and letters were sent to parents at the beginning of the term to this effect so that they prepare their children. In the letter, each class was told the colour of the T-shirt to wear on blue jeans

  • Creach - Red T-shirt
  • Nurs 1 - Purple T-shirt
  • Pre kg - Leaf green T-shirt
  • Kg. - Yellow T-shirt
  • Grade 1- White T-shirt
  • Grade 2 - Pink T-shirt
  • Grade 3- Royal blue T-shirt
  • Grade 4 - Ash T-shirt
  • Grade 5 - Sky blue T-shirt
  • Jss1- Vibrant orange T-shirt
  • Jss2 - Lemon green T-shirt
  • Jss3 - Navy blue T-shirt
  • Ss1 - Black T-shirt
  • Ss2 - Ox blood T-shirt
  • Ss3 - Burnt orange T-shirt

This was how it was specified for each class to appear in school on that day. So you can imagine how colourful they all looked that day, the students were all happy as they went to school that day. You could tell by how they were all smiles. When I went for a school run that morning, right from the school gate, which was decorated with colourful ribbons, the students were organised by their teachers to stand according to their classes and colours. The teachers were not left out. They were also beautifully dressed with their class colours, I complimented some of the teachers and students on how good they looked.

However, the day was strictly for colour celebration as the children were asked not to come with their school bags. There were some grown students from the secondary section playing the school drum, which added more entertainment to the event.

It was a fun day for the entire school because my children came home that day and told me how they all matched into school according to their colours with the sound of the drum; each class made a presentation about their colour, had a dancing competition and many other fun activities. I think this day is aimed to help the children relax and unwind, to improve brain function and performance because they pass through the stress of going to school every day from morning to evening most times, activities like this help them relax and regenerate energy.

However, colours attract children's attention. The involvement of colour made it more exciting to them. I can remember how my little child kept reminding me to buy his colour day T-shirt, and he did not make a mistake with his class colour; he specified it: "Leafy green". Seeing how happy other children were that day, I wonder what would have happened if I had not gotten it for him because I almost forgot the date.

It was indeed a joyful and entertaining event for the children.

I am. inviting @eveetim, @onyiluvdan and @chima09.
