Hello friends welcome back to my blog.

Today, I will be talking about a plantain plantation farm in my neighbourhood. This plantation is very close to my house, I share a fence with this plantain plantation, and I can see everything that goes on in the plantation. It used to be empty land without a building until the owner of the land decided to turn it into a plantain plantation. He came with some labourers who cut down all the grown bushes in the land and did all the necessary activities that would prepare the land for cultivation.

The man and the labourers came back in a week to begin planting. They came with sticks of plantain and began putting them in the ridges that the labourers had made the previous week. As time went on, the plantain grew well, and the owner normally came around once in a while to check on them; he removed any unwanted plants close to the plantain trees and also checked to see the progress of the plantation.

A few months later, the plantains grew bountifully, yielding big green plantains. I will always come out of my balcony to admire the plantation and wish to have one someday.

Unfortunately, I noticed that the owner stopped his frequent visits to the plantation, which made me wonder what might be the reason for that. The plantation was not checked on anymore; bushes had already begun to grow in it, and no one was able to enter the farm due to the fear of being bitten by a snake. The unwanted plants affected the plantain in that they began to look unhealthy and began to die. You can see that some of the leaves are dried up and are turning brown. The healthy fresh plantaintion I once admired so much looks so dry and bushy.

Looking at it this morning awakened my mind to the fact that it is very important to take care of anything we have, or we might just end up losing it. I also wondered why the owner would let this huge plantain plantation that is profitable go to waste after investing time and resources into it. A good suggestion to save the plantation would be to hand it to someone else to manage the plantation or lease it out.

I am inviting @rossnenye, @mesola and @bela90 to tell us about happenings in their neighbourhood
