The Diary Game: Visiting A Friend Of Mine[27/04/2026]

Hi everyone, I still remain @demigodsms, I will like to share another episode with you all about how I went to visit a friend of mine in lagos. I woke up this morning and said to myself, "let me go and visit Michael today.” We’ve not seen since the beginning of this year. Phone calls are not enough. Sometimes you need to see your guy face to face, gist, laugh and eat together. Michael stays at Iyana Ipaja. While, I live in Ikorodu. If you know Lagos very well, you know that the journey is not not easy. But friendship worth it. So i took my bath, put on good shirt, sprayed small perfume and I left house by 7am. First bus to Ketu was okay. From oshodi to Iyana Ipaja traffic was standing still. The sun was hot. We stayed there for 25 minutes moving small. I was thinking if I should go back home. But encourage myself to continue.

I finally reached Iyana Ipaja by 10:30pm. I trekked to his street. His compound has green gate. I knocked. Michael opened the gate and shouted, “Chairman!” then We hugged, This guy really added weight. Good living was showing on his face. His mom was at home. She went in and brought me rice and chicken immediately. I didn’t even say I was hungry, I took it, greets her and ate it. I and Michael sat outside, gist for some hours. We talked about secondary school days. How we used to share one biscuits and coke everytime. How we promised to “blow” together. life was not the way we planned, but we’re trying. He showed me his small shop. He’s male clothes now. I was proud of him.

After sometimes, I said I need to go before traffic gets worse. He followed me to the bus stop, bought me plantain chips and coke, We hugged and went our separate ways. I entered the bus back to Ikorodu, tired but happy. Sometimes Phone calls is good, but visiting is more important. Thanks for listening to my episode.
