The Value of Time

Why do you think time is considered more valuable than money?

Time is often said to be more valuable than money because, unlike money, time is something we can never get back once it’s lost. Money can be earned again, saved, spent, or even borrowed, but time is a one-way street. Every second that passes is gone forever, and no amount of money can bring it back. This makes time incredibly precious.

Think of time as the foundation of everything we do. When you have time, it’s like having a well-equipped toolbox or a detailed map that helps you plan your journey in life. With enough time, you can organize your day, set goals, learn new skills, build relationships, and work towards your dreams. Time is like a burning fire inside us—it motivates us to move forward and keeps us on the right track. Without time, even the richest person cannot achieve happiness or success because they don’t have the moments to use their resources wisely.

Moreover, time is equal for everyone. No matter how rich or poor, everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. What makes the difference is how we choose to use those hours. When we value time, we respect ourselves and our goals. We understand that wasting time is like throwing away a chance to improve our lives. So, time is more valuable than money because it is the true currency of life—it allows us to create, grow, and experience everything meaningful.

Share an experience when you felt you wasted time or used your time wisely. What did you learn from it?

There was a period in my life when I spent a lot of time doing fraud. At the time, I called it “work” because I was putting in effort and doing it consistently. People around me said consistency is important, so I kept going, thinking I was building something. But deep inside, I knew it wasn’t right. I was doing it because of economic hardships and felt like it was the only way to survive. It felt like a road with no clear destination—just a fast-moving train heading somewhere unknown.

One day, I paused and reflected deeply. I asked myself, “Is this really work? Does it bring me closer to my dreams or make me proud? Does it give me peace or happiness?” The answer was no. I realized I was wasting my precious time on something that didn’t help me grow or feel good about myself. I could have used that time to learn new skills, find honest work, or even rest and think about my future.

From this experience, I learned a very important lesson: before starting any task or making a decision, I need to plan carefully and think about the consequences. Time is too valuable to waste on things that don’t build a better life. Consistency is important, but it must be applied to the right things. Taking time to consider my choices and their impact is the best foundation for success and happiness.

What are some ways people can manage their time better in daily life?

Managing time well is one of the most important skills anyone can develop. To do this, people need to focus on doing the right things at the right time. Time keeps moving forward, so we need a clear plan or schedule to walk alongside it and make the most of every moment.

One effective way to manage time is to set priorities. This means deciding what tasks are most important and doing those first before moving on to less urgent things. It’s also helpful to break big tasks into smaller, manageable steps so they don’t feel overwhelming. Another key is to avoid distractions like unnecessary phone use, social media, or other activities that waste time without adding value.

Creating a daily or weekly schedule can guide you through your tasks and help you stay organized. It’s important to include breaks to rest and recharge because working non-stop can lead to burnout and reduce productivity. Learning to say “no” to things that don’t align with your goals is also crucial for protecting your time.

Finally, reflecting on how you spend your time at the end of each day can help you improve. Ask yourself what worked well and what could be done differently tomorrow. Managing time well is about being thoughtful, disciplined, and intentional with every minute you have.

If you could go back in time to change one decision in your life, what would it be and why?

If I had the chance to go back in time, the one decision I would change immediately is the time I spent doing fraud. I would stop myself without mercy and push myself to choose a different path. I wasted so much valuable time on something that didn’t bring me true happiness, success, or peace. Instead of building a future, I was walking down a road that led nowhere good.

Changing that decision would have saved me from a lot of regret and hardship. It would have allowed me to start working hard on honest, meaningful things much earlier. I would have had more time to learn, grow, and build a life I could be proud of. This experience taught me how important it is to make good choices early and to be brave enough to change course.
