SLC-S29/W5-“Thinking and Ideas!| Ideas That Failed (and Why)!”
![]() |

Have you ever hype yourself for one plan, only to later realize that it was just a pure cruise the thing turn out to be?. I believe that failure do teach a person pass success. It's these kind of questions that scatter my head anytime I sit down to reflect on my journey. Because truth be told, its the ideas which didn't work do shape me pass the ones that succeed.
Describe an idea, plan, or decision (yours or someone else’s) that failed. |
|---|
![]() |
|---|
The idea is simple but ambitious: Me and @mhizta decide that we will build serious influence on Steemit community. We reason that if we can gather Steem Power (SP) up to 5k, we might be able to curate content, support other writers, and at the same time earn steady rewards. Our target was clear — 5000 SP in six months. The steem was 0.2$ by then which was a good plan for us.
We do imagine that once it reaches that level, our votes will carry weight, our reputation will rise, and we it will bring growth too to the platform.
What was the original intention behind it? Why do you think it failed? |
|---|
The intention behind the plan is clear:
Build strong Steem Power base to support others and do delegation too.
Collaborate as partners so we fit pull resources together.
Use consistent posting, curation, and reinvestment of rewards to grow.
Hit 5000 SP target as proof that we were serious and disciplined althrough the last six months.
Why It Fail
But reality don't always match imagination. The plan flop for different reasons:
Market problem: Crypto market do volatile. The steem price drop so heavily, voting rewards reduce, and our growth plan just scatter.
Consistency problem: Due to electricity and other issues we couldn't post or vote as steady as we plan. Life commitments do drag us back.
Collaboration gap: Even though me and @mhizta do try, sometimes miscommunication do affect how we are moving. Since we are living in different state. Motivation, and communication sometimes do lack due to phone issues.
Unrealistic target: To hit 5000 SP in six months require serious capital or massive consistency. We underestimate the effort.
At the end, instead of celebrating milestone, we do count how far we fall short. The dream which we carry like egg just break on our hand.
What would you do differently if given another chance? |
|---|

|---|
If I given another chance Which we are surely starting next month, I will approach it with more wisdom:
Set realistic goals: Instead of rushing for 5000 SP in six months, I will break it down into smaller achievable targets.
Stay consistent: Even if life do busy, I will make sure that I do post and vote regularly. Atleast three times a week.
Improve collaboration: Me and @mhizta will be communicating much better, share tasks clearly, and hold each other accountable. We might even fix a fine for a person that doesn't has Atleast three post a week.
Diversify strategy: Instead of relying only on Steem rewards, I will explore other crypto opportunities to support the growth. Like buying steem to power up.
My final Thoughts |
|---|
Failure do pain, but it teaches. These Steem Power hustle show me that passion is not enough; planning, resources, and execution do matter pass. I learn that sometimes you gats fail first before you can succeed. And honestly, I'm not ashamed to share this story, because it's the scars which do remind me that growth do come from mistakes.
So if I'm being ask today, “Failure do teach pass success?” I will say, Yes. Because it's the failed target of 5000 SP which I and @mhizta didn't reached , years ago, which open my eyes to be patience, discipline, and know the real hustle behind crypto growth.

Hi @emishael60, welcome to thinking and ideas week 5
It wasn't a bad idea, but you aimed too high in six months and the problem of inconsistency would have dealt with if you guys had planned well.
Well, there is room for learning.
My brother, it's not about failure! It's about great future plans with Steem to build a reputation through a commitment to building trust, long-term investment (powerUp), and consistency in content contribution (actively writing and engaging with the community through comments).
There are no failed contributions here because the Proof of Brain system works with a transparent mechanism to give/receive rewards for every brain power (exclusive content) in the form of Steem tokens.
Thank you sir @dove11
Bro you got. Sometimes when I remember the plan, I feel like.....we didn't do enough. From one perspective, it look like we fall, but from another angle it teaches us that some failure is just a lesson.
I take you as example, even though it didn't go as we planned, you're still consistent even though it not easy at some point. Even after we planned my mom @wakeupkitty suggested to reduced the posting some days so I won't be stuck.... but me(as "I know everything" as I am), don't laugh, I thought there's nothing wrong with it.
The moral lesson I learned from our failure is that sometimes someone advised might save us from a big mistake. Instead of ignoring their advice, why not weighed it and asked they think that way.
But brotherly, this is not the end, we still have a lot to do. I believe there's a reason why we collaborate but don't worry, it's just an inspiration, a lesson and a mistake.
Commenting on your post: You made a beautiful writeup, something that brighten my face this morning.
So if I may ask: we gonna play the game again this year? I mean realistic goals?
Thanks for stopping by 🤝
I'm Up for it 😎🤝
Congratulations, your comment has been upvoted by the Steemcurator06 team. Keep up the valuable comments.
