My Neighborhood Watch #133 - Reporting Events Around us

The neighborhood watch put together by @xkool24 has been a wonderful contest, helping us not just write but to be aware of our environment and getting to know what is happening. For me, every gathering around my neighborhood must be cleared. Go there, find out what you see, understand it. It is a way of being security conscious in some aspects.

A pastor friend put a call to me a few days ago for my assistance as he was invited to minister in the school solemn assembly. I had to cancel every other appointment to favour such a spiritual exercise that will be a blessing to the entire school.

The event is scheduled for 9am to 12noon on the 16th January, 2026. At exactly 8:38am we were in the school premises, and I was overwhelmed by the settings of the place, the staff, principals and students were already set for us to arrive. We were ushered in to see the principal admin who is in charge, we exchanged pleasantries and had to wait for 9am.The students were well seated outside the assembly hall, while the varendar of the assembly was used for elevation purposes, serving as the podium and where all the teachers and staff sat.

I was on keyboard as the prayers commenced. The Moderator of the activities did excellently well. The student's maturity throughout the prayer was top-notch. We had moments of praise, opening Prayer, the school choir rendered a piece while the pastor minister powerfully but very briefly on the topic “DO YOU KNOW YOUR GOD?” with his text captured from Philippians 3:10 which Apostle Paul was quoted say:

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

The preacher challenged the entire school to explain how they know God. In his message he maintained that God begins with us having an uncompromising relationship with Jesus.

After the exhortation, other prayer points were said by those designated to the staff for the welfare of the school and others. The event was fixed to end at 12 noon, and ended at about 11:12am. We finished on time and I was satisfied.

The whole of that neighborhood was captured from the school, especially during the praise and worship session and the way the students and staff prayed fervently.
