Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 114: A Day in My Life - (2025)
INTRODUCTION |
|---|
Hello Steemians, I am @freshgrace participating in this contest on @Steem4Nigeria.
A day in my life for me is a retrospection and reflection of what made that day different from others. It is not to say that a particular day is more special or bad as such; however, we must look at the experience a particular day brought and the memories created. It could be positive or the other way round.
2025 is a year to expect everything good or bad. However, my experiences this year are more of a mixture of joy and sad moments. I thank God that my saddest day did not overwhelm me nor take away my virtue. This year I have lost a precious gift, and I have also witnessed celebrations in my family and many more to come.
Of course, it is worth everything. We are not the controller of things on earth. Remember in Job 38:12 God asked Job a big question:
"Have you ever given orders to the morning or shown the dawn its place,
We must know that God is sovereign in His ways. What we go through on a daily basis does not, in a way, leave room for us to decide about the year. If I say that the year isn't worth it, will I have the power to tune the next year to my decisions? No! We only pray to God to give us the grace to go through every day.
On the 8th of February, 2025, I lost my precious gift, a baby girl, due to the carelessness of the health workers. As the labour prolonged, they were still giving hope that it would be alright, and I was fine because my son was born in the same clinic. They even told me to go home, and they will call me for the good news. I did believe them, but it was rather bad news I got, and I went to confirm my dead daughter. A very difficult day for me in 2025 altogether.
That it was good before doesn’t make it good every day. My son was born there, and I thought the delivery would take the same manner.
Don't allow lack of money to make you play with the issue of life and death. We considered the Health Centre because it was cheap.

I should have trusted them that much to the point of going with my son that night, expecting good news in the morning. Maybe witnessing the whole event would have prompted me to change the facility to a private hospital.
I shouldn't have even taken my wife there if I had known. What I am doing differently is learning from the above to get the right results next time. Like registering her for antenatal care in different places and taking charge of herself.

Every day will not be the same, trust God for your day and leave the rest to Him
