You know, you've got a point when you said some people just commented for showy. I once had a discussion on this matter, and the response was not good at all, a lot of users felt compelled to comment meaningfully, they don't comment willingly and that's bad. Yeah I told someone before that most times it's not about upvote but I normally felt encouraged by quality engagement on my posts, that it shows that people like my content and find it interesting, they were laughing at me. But the truth is that one's write up must first of all interest readers, then vote will follow
