Portrait drawing titled “This time”
Hello folks, here is an excerpts of my recent sketch for today. I wrote a poem for this sketch which I will share with you all below.
This Time
This time…
I’m listening to the clock.
Not the loud ticking on the wall,
but the quiet one inside my chest
the one that whispers
you’re spending something you can’t earn twice.
Minutes fall like coins.
You don’t hear them drop at first…
until you reach back
and find nothing left to hold.
This time, I see it clearly.
Every second is a soft goodbye
dressed like a normal day.
It smiles, stays a while,
then slips away without a sound.
We say “later” like it’s promised.
We say “tomorrow” like it’s ours.
But time doesn’t sign contracts
it only moves ahead,
never turning to explain itself.
I have wasted it before…
on doubts that never mattered,
on waiting for perfect moments
that never came.
And still, it kept going
without asking me to catch up.
Because every minute…
is a currency already spent.
No refunds.
No second chances to relive it better.
And when the clock moves
as it always will
I’ll know I didn’t just lose time…
I used time.
