Welcome everyone to week 2 of the steemit engagement challenge contest. Last week we talked about giving a manifesto as the aspiring president of the country, and today we are looking at another important topic that says No place like home: Tell us why you prefer your country to any other country. To clearly state these reasons, I will be attempting the question given below.

Open a brief introduction that tells us about your Country.

Nigeria is my country. Nigeria happens to be one of the most populated black countries in the world. It is located in West Africa. Nigeria from the map of Africa is seen having borders with Benin, Cameroon, Chad and Niger. In terms of maritime, Nigeria has borders with Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, São Tomé and Príncipe.

Africa is the second-largest populated content in the world after Asia which happens to be the first. In Africa, Nigeria is known as the giant of Africa due to their activities in sports, peacekeeping and many other things.

Nigeria is an English-speaking nation but they have their native language which includes Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba as the major. The country is officially made up of 36 different states and their capitals. We also have about 774 local government areas in the country from the different states I mentioned earlier.

The country Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups and about 500 languages with Hausa-Fulani having the highest population of persons followed by the Yoruba and the Igbos. As I have said earlier the official language for the Nigerians is English.

The country Nigeria has its capital in Abuja and also uses Naira as the country's currency. The country depends mostly on oil and agriculture to finance the nation. We have two major rivers in the country the River Niger and River Benue. Both rivers met in Lokoja the confluence city.

What are the great things that interest you about your country?

There are lots of things that interest me about my country Nigeria among which include food, culture, religion and hardworking. Let me give a brief explanation of all the points mentioned above.

Food: Nigeria is blessed with so many varieties of food. The land here in Nigeria is very fertile every you plant, you will reap a very rich harvest. Due to the fertility of the land, the people of Nigeria are always into farming because they get a lot of harvests that feed their family all year round.

Nigerians are also very good cooks. Whenever you come into Nigeria and you eat food prepared by a Calabar girl or an Akwa-Ibom lady, you will never want to eat another food again. They prepare it so delicious that you may end up spending all your earnings on good food.

Culture: Nigerians are people of culture. The culture of our forefathers is still maintained to this time. A younger child sees an elderly person, he bends down and greets the person. In the case of the Yoruba people, the prostate to great. This act of culture is still seen in Nigeria today. The acts of value are seen even in the dressing made by our young youths today. A lady that is nurtured very well will not dress half-naked on the street.

Religion: Nigeria is one of the most religious countries in the world today. Though we have the Christians, Muslims and the traditional religion they all live in the same country with one. If you come to Nigeria, you will never lack a place to worship because we have a series of churches and mosques everywhere. Presently, after every 2km, you must see a worship centre anywhere in Nigeria.

Hardworking: Nigerians are very hardworking people. Another thing is that they can survive in any kind of condition you place them. It's only in Nigeria that a student will have to take courses outside his field of studies so that such a student will be equipped enough to work anywhere. In the steemit platform for instance you will notice Nigerians standing out among others. During the periods of the academy, Nigerians are always among the season's superstars.

Which of the things mentioned above do you prefer your country for, over other countries?

I prefer my country over other countries in terms of religion. I have stated earlier that Nigeria is one of the most religious countries in the world today. Here in Nigeria, you see churches everywhere and people are praying and worshipping God seriously. I have heard of other countries where they have lost their belief in the worship of God, some don't even believe that there is God but here in Nigeria, everywhere you will see churches and mosques as well as shrines.

No Place like home: If you eventually leave your country in search of greener pastures, would you be willing to come back because of your response in (3).

Yes. I will come back home because of the response I have given above. I love the way Nigerians worship God and that will make me return even if I have the privilege to go out. As a band member, there is this joy I feel when we praise God using the African way. You will see the power of God completely in action in such an environment. I doubt if I wi get such music out there because the music is cultural and only the Nigerian culture can give me that.

Conclusion

Nigeria is a very beautiful place to be. We have both human and natural resources and that has kept us going despite the trail times that the country is facing presently due to insurgency. I want to invite my friends @kawsar, @olabillions, @dave-hanny and @josepha to also join the contest.

Nigerian soils are ideal for growing agricultural items, which has allowed it to become an exporter of these foods to several countries on the continent. Likewise, it has great potential for the production and export of oil.

The love of God, and the way he is worshiped in Nigeria is admirable. God will always allow great things for that region as long as he is truly praised.

Maybe our belief has been the pillar that has been holding this country since disaster started occurring, most countries don't worship no more, I can begin to write name, as such the way of the lord has been eradicated from them giving triumph to satan
